33lima Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Some pics of the RPSI's newly-restored GNR(I) 131 in steam for short hops for the Whitehead Food and Folk Music Festival, earlier today (and a DMU, can't have these ancient overgrown kettles taking over the place): : Quote
Kirley Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Great photographs Ivor, I would have love to visit Whitehead today but could not make it. Quote
Railer Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 The RPSI are really doing well this year. They have 4, 85, 131 and 461 all in steam. Just a new tender for 131 is all that needed and stopping them from having 4 operational kettles by the years end. Quote
jhb171achill Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 C'mon the kettles! Railcars out..... glorified trams! ;-) Quote
DERAILED Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 131 in steam - never thought that I'd see the day. Great pics by the way! Quote
33lima Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) Thanks, guys. I've put some more pics in the albums, including some 'boring' shots of various bits for reference purposes, here... http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/album.php?albumid=52 ..and here: http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/album.php?albumid=101 I was a bit disappointed that the engine for the day had been changed from 4 to 131 in the last few days, but being right behind a GNR(I) 4-4-0 that had been brought back to life by the magic of the RPSI, sort of made up for that! burnthebox Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Well done 33lima, great pics, pity Whitehead is where it is, it's a bit of a distance, maybe I could get a train, Quote
