Kirley Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Picked this up at the Glasgow Show from Tony Wright who was building brass locomotives + lots of good tips from him. It's just what I needed to ensure the chassis was in alignment, it's one of Weshty's SSM kits. Quote
Dhu Varren Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I can't see the picture. Is it just me? I think it must be just you, GSR. That is a nice piece of kit Kieran. Quote
GSR 800 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I see it now, must just have been a glitch or something. I am thinking of getting the Poppies wood tech one myself, as it would be ideal for myself as well What kit is in it? Quote
Kirley Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 What kit is in it? It's the GNR(I) SG loco Quote
GSR 800 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 It's the GNR(I) SG loco Thanks Kirley. It's looking great so far! Quote
Mike 84C Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I used one on a visit to Tony Wrights and I was impressed. I believe they now do a longer one, a B1 chassis just fitted in the standard model so I shall buy the longer one. And a sensible price. Quote
GSR 800 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 For any if ye wondering how much £25 pound for the 6 coupled and £30 for an 8 coupled Very reasonable indeed Quote
Mike 84C Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Thanks for the prices Harry, I could not remember how much they were. I think only a professional loco builder could justify the more sophisticated, pricey versions. Quote
Horsetan Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) For any if ye wondering how much £25 pound for the 6 coupled and £30 for an 8 coupledVery reasonable indeed Certainly seems an ingenious idea, and cheap when compared with these 10-coupled engines not catered for, though - bad news for builders of 9Fs and WD 2-10-0s, as well as German classes 44/45/50/52/58/94/95, etc. Only thing I'd be concerned about is the lack of support below - I usually build my frames using a flat surface - e.g. small plate of glass.
