Some nice footage of 800 Maedb, a J15 and the then new A classes and Cravens

Can't imagine anyone would be allowed to climb up on engines nowadays

This open day would have featured Bulleid's turf burner. Even though officially withdrawn in 1963, the underframe and bogies hung around Inchicore at least until the mid-1970s. What a gas that might have been if the RPSI had been around to save the remains.

There's a rumour that the underframe became the supports for a bridge on some golf course or other...

Reminds me of the last air show in Galway .there was so much pulling and dragging of the raf marlin when it took off the door fell off

 

aye, the crowds were lucky that day! pity as it was a great venue for the show.
