Another American Layout! In HO

After using my small N gauge layout at shows I have always wanted a large HO layout. So taking so much needed time out I started to build one. It's 5mtr x 1.5mtr or 16' 5" x 5'

Its not based on anywhere, has lots of shunting potential. It will have a saw mill on one end with a paper mill in the middle and a loco maintenance depot at the other end.

Sounds great.

May I ask what era is it. With those box car things (sorry I don't know much on the rail through the USA) in the second last  pic is it 90s - present day era?

It was supposed to be late steam early diesel, I got a bit carried away buying kits and locos from all eras! I am thinking late 60's

@ Dave - Very impressive layout. What locomotives will you be operating? I have the Scale Trains SDL39 (Wisconsin Central) and really like them as they're suitable for a small oval track, however, your layout looks like it'll be able to handle the large GE Dash-9s or EMD SD70s.

You're making me jealous. Had the Trix Big Boy locomotive years ago and, it was big and heavy and knew that, unless I had suitable permanent layout, I'd have no way to operate it - ah, the joys of being a renter. Can't wait until you start posting pictures of them running on your new layout. Good luck with the build and please keep us posted.

Unfortunately I havent been able to work on it due to ill health and the business growing into new markets. I am hoping to get back to it soon and bring it home.
