Dave
After using my small N gauge layout at shows I have always wanted a large HO layout. So taking so much needed time out I started to build one. It's 5mtr x 1.5mtr or 16' 5" x 5' Its not based on anywhere, has lots of shunting potential. It will have a saw mill on one end with a paper mill in the middle and a loco maintenance depot at the other end. 14

With those box car things (sorry I don't know much on the rail through the USA) in the second last pic is it 90s - present day era? It was supposed to be late steam early diesel, I got a bit carried away buying kits and locos from all eras! I am thinking late 60's
DiveController
Hi Dave, May I ask what you're using to deaden the sun under the track work? How did you deal with the electrics of the reversing loop? Track design is very American. Lovely job
raymurph
Very impressive work. Would love to see any more updates.
connollystn
@ Dave - Very impressive layout. What locomotives will you be operating? I have the Scale Trains SDL39 (Wisconsin Central) and really like them as they're suitable for a small oval track, however, your layout looks like it'll be able to handle the large GE Dash-9s or EMD SD70s. Dave
I have quite a mix, from Big Boy, Challanger to Dash-9's, SD-45, NW-2's and the list goes on...
connollystn
You're making me jealous. Had the Trix Big Boy locomotive years ago and, it was big and heavy and knew that, unless I had suitable permanent layout, I'd have no way to operate it - ah, the joys of being a renter. Can't wait until you start posting pictures of them running on your new layout. Good luck with the build and please keep us posted.
Dave
Unfortunately I havent been able to work on it due to ill health and the business growing into new markets. I am hoping to get back to it soon and bring it home. 1
