Mayner Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Just came across this on RM Web http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/63243-the-bleach-green-project/page__hl__irish#entry821272. Seems to be due to make an appearance at Cultra ambitious is not quite the word. Quote
Glenderg Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Spotted this the other night too, but i found the background distracting, so here's it cleaned up. I think it's fantastic, and lining up to be a very very fine, and fun layout. Quote
Guest hidden-agenda Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 This is some excellent modelling and spot on as i use this route occasionally. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 That is fantastic looking forward to seeing it at Cultra. Quote
Kirley Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Colm Flannagan and his group have been working hard on this project which they have kept under wraps until now. Looking forward to seeing in at Cultra next month. More pictures on the RM web site. Quote
heirflick Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 i would imagine that if colm flannigan has anything to do with it, the layout will display steamers only! Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 i would imagine that if colm flannigan has anything to do with it, the layout will display steamers only! Thats a shame MM112 would look great on that Quote
heirflick Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 ah anthony....sometimes you cant beat a blast from the past of those magnificant fire breathing machines. your dunluse castle would be a welcome sight there - or anywhere for that matter! Quote
Mayner Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 i would imagine that if colm flannigan has anything to do with it, the layout will display steamers only! I would not bet on it Colm is an authority on Northern Ireland's diesels and built most of the railcar classes could have a very interesting mix of motive power and rolling stock. If the boys go for DCC a 70 or 80 Class with a sound chip would be a nice change to a General Motors diesel. Quote
Kirley Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 On his previous layout "Killagan" Colm always ran a mixture of Steam & Railcars. His era is NCC/UTA. Quote
leslie10646 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 As I said on another thread - I can't recommend this too highly - I've seen much later pics and it's amazing - I remember cycling along the path you see in the foreground! Those of you who were born too late to enjoy steam will be relieved to know that Colm is the man for railcars - especially as he wrote the Book! Leslie Quote
Glenderg Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Those of you born too late to enjoy steam will be relieved to..... railcars Railcars? Steam all the way sir. Quote
