Yeah i didnt quite turn out how i imagined. I was trying for discoloured areas under the orange but it just didnt work out unfortunately. It was meant to alot fainter.

C class update. After realising I was using the picture of an A class as reference the IR logos were removed and CIE roundals were applied. Following this the body was weathered. Im happy with its overall hard worked run down appearance. Your thoughts as always are appreciated. Chris

C class update. Painting of the body has finished and the IR transfers applied at both ends. Below is the real life example I took inspiration from which I found open source online (couldnt find the authorto give credit). Thankfully the running numbers are worn away because I didn't have any that would work. Once the clear coat has dried it'll be weathered to tie in the paint chipping effects. The orange looks brighter in the pictures of the model verses up front. Your thoughts as always are appreciated. Chris.

C class update. With the body primed the start of the painting has begun. This model will represent the class towards it end of service so we'll be in a sorry state. I'm doing some reverse masking with liquid mask so in spots the brown rust will come through the paint. Your thoughts as always are appreciated. Chris

C class update. With all the cutting now complete the brass parts are glued in place. As I have a dcc donor loco for this project I am not looking forward to trying too drill out all the light fittings on both ends to allow for running lights. Your thoughts as always are appreciated. Chris

It will be the "EMD engine". It'll be modeled towards the tail end of service so it'll be looking quite worn out too. The grilles are more to create a little uniqueness. Thank you for the reference pictures. Chris

C Class build. Armed with lessons learned from adding custom details and learning the inner workings of model locomotives from my SD40 build i took on to build out a C Class from silver fox. Armed with etched parts from SSM work has officially begun. I've begun by cutting out all the vent on the sides to be replaced with etched grating. Can't get the transfers you want, make your own. Test sheet printed. Apart from needing to replace the ink they turned out pretty good for the scale.
