  1. I'm looking forward to seeing this scene develop
  2. Layout update. Track has started to arrived with must of the points and the slight curved sections having been purchased. Having had the opportunity a few weeks ago thanks too @jhb171achill to meet various others from the hobby who were extremely helpful and more knowledgeable, the layout will be powered DCC wise by the NCE Powercab control system with points being operated by tortoise point motors. Also did a rough fit of the points leading into the yard. The unpowered scenic section leading off the board I decided to recycle some old hornby track and point I had has nothing will run on it and it doesn't need to be prefect.
  3. Or enterprise coach stock as the enterprise livery 201s much like the intercity have nothing to hual passenger wise. That being said, having returned to the hobby too late to pick up any of the originally produced mk3s I'm looking forward to their release.
  4. Suspended sentences only survive to undermine the legal system and enables those to continually break the law.
  5. Thank you I'll definitely look at getting a hold of that. Spent the morning designing using peco set track. I had hoped to use my stock of code 75 trackage and points I had for my actual layout as a cost saving option but the available points would not have allowed me to use the space. The set track by peco that was suggested in earlier posts has given me more room and some longer sidings and run around tracks and I must admit it think it'll add more value running wise to the layout. Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm glad I went back and took the time to revise these plans.
  6. I will look into it further, maybe down load some of those templates off peco. I do have peco track and some points I was collecting for when I build my actual layout but the way that is unfortunately a long way off.
  7. Unfortunately it was a compromise I had to make with the space. Thank you though for your suggestion.
  8. I had originally set out with a view to using peco but my limited selection of their points on Any Rail didn't allow for the track plan within the available board space.
  9. Track plan printed out to use as a template
  10. With some time off work the baseboard for barracks street layout has been completed.
  11. Assembled, painted, transfers applied and weathered one CH-47D. Have to say I enjoyed doing this kit, the first in a very very long time. Not a big fan of Revell to be honest. A lot of panel gaps and rough edges but all in all a good kit to get back into it.
  12. Had a few days between doing some weathering jobs and my own backlog of projects it was a nice break
  13. Painting completed and two good layers of gloss varnish applied. Leaving to set for a few days before beginning to apply the transfers followed by some weathering. Also dry fitted the rotor heads which will be glued in place along with the side guns once all other work is completed. Very happy with how the paint turned out.
  14. Rotor heads fitted in place along with the internal bay and cockpit. Both body sides glued together with engine exhausts and cockpit canopy fitted following painting.
  15. With installation of the larger extended range fuel tank complete next stage was a light grey primer coat followed by some pre shading along the moulded panel gaps. Next stage will be to fit the window "glass" before dry fitting followed by gluing the interior pictured aboveand both sides together.
  16. Really?! I did not know that. Usually spend ages sanding
  17. Miliput. To be honest I could have taken a bit more time to do ot right. Some of it is fixing my own mistakes.
  18. Revell CH-47D. The kit gives the choice of either an RAF version or as the title suggests, converting it into the variant used by the 160th. Below the cockpit is complete and detailed with some internal weathering done. Fuselage pictured is following the removal of the RAF variant tanks and replaced with the larger ones for the 160th type. Filler was then applied and waiting for it to set for a few days. Not necessary to wait that long I know but using the time to prep and paint other parts.
  19. Thanks @Rob. Once the test layout is sold work will begin.
  20. Selling my test layout as I no longer have the space. Base board is 4 x 8 plywood and come with a pair of legs Two running loops with a siding come yard area using hornby set track. Included is a hornby controller unit which can power two tracks. Any questions feel free to ask. I'm looking for 100 euro. Potentially a good father son project to scenic.
  21. The only thing I can say with any degree of certainty is that the 121 running bonnet first would be dependent on whether it had come south bound over north bound off the main line just south of dundalk station.
