  1. I have about 25 original views of Stranorlar in my CDRJC album on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157662649694575 ERnie
  2. No I don't think I have any. Ernie
  3. No I don't think so, no loop on running line at Mallow and I am pretty sure that is an Oil storage tank in the distance. Ernie Later: I have found a photo by HC Casserley, 23 April 1955 which has the grey concrete gate post on it so I am pretty sure that it is Foynes Oil sidings.
  4. More video's uploaded. Limerick Junction June 2005 in 5 parts so far: Part 1 is https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/46738009052/in/dateposted/ Parts 2 to 5 are also uploaded. I think the scenario was that a 201 Class or Mk 3 set had failed in Cork and it was decided to swop over 202 on a down Liner with 190+ 134 on an up mt cement so that the 202 could return to Dublin and switch to a passenger diagram. As the Baby GM's couldn't take the same train load as a 201 class; 2 wagons were removed to the sidings where they were added to a following Limerick/Cork combined LIner. My video technique wasn't so good in those days and its a bit "over-active", copied from Digital 8 Tape. Ernie
  5. Where's this one? looks like a Private siding. Probably 1991. I have a hunch its Foynes Oil Siding Can anyone confirm? Thanks Ernie
  6. With my newly acquired skills? I have now uploaded the video of the 7mm narrow gauge Sligo & Donegal Junction Rly from October 2000 https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/31832746537/in/dateposted/ Ernie
  7. Try it again Flickr had decided that it was 'Private' rather than public! ERnie
  8. I think I've got it sussed ! Flickr hasn't changed yet; at present you can only upload Videos of up to 3 minutes but when the new format starts later this year I can upload video's up to 10 minutes in length. Here are a couple more from May 2000 at Limerick Junction. First 192 reverses the Mts from Athy into Platform 2 and goes off to rescue a failed 127 on the Push/Pull. 192 then takes them off to Limerick passing a Cork Liner and an mt bagged cement. The Video is from old Hi8 stock and not so good as the later Digital 8 material I switched to a couple of years later. I will just put links on as I think they should work. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/46025400434/in/dateposted/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/39785068603/in/photostream/ Fingers crossed Ernie
  9. As luck would have it, my experiments in uploading my video to flickr today were from the same date as this sequence of the Tara's arriving at Alexandra Road behing 088 in June 2003. You can see patches of the red/brown livery through the grey dust. Its a bit shaky in places, probably jet lag from the Ryanair long haul ex Geordie land that morning. Ernie Its only uploaded part of the video! Possibly there is a daily limit.
  10. For some reason it's been marked as 'PRIVATE' ! I have amended the settings.
  11. Bit of a pain I've tried it as embedded but it won't work, possibly something to do with the changes on Flickr recently introduced. Ernie
  12. I think you can just click on to the link - I don't think you have to sign in to Flickr. Ernie
  13. I've been experimenting with uploading some of my own video to Flickr. First attempt is 080 arriving at Claremorris with the Ballina ECS set and then shunting the Guinness wagons in June 2003 https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/32862241808/in/dateposted/ Ernie
  14. Yes that is what I have always tried to do. I prefer to base my layouts out in the open countryside, the end result hopefully reflecting the area that the layout is supposed to be located in. Urban/City locations don't really appeal. These days modern architecture looks the same the world over and isn't for me. Ernie
  15. That photo is of one of the cement Silos for loading the bubbles and Bulk wagons at Mungret and much larger than the storage silos for road delivery vehicles as at Tullamore (top photo) and Waterford. (Bottom photo) Ernie
  16. Done; Good luck!
  17. Many thanks for the cards boys, Festive Greetings and all the best for 2019. Here's a slide just acquired. Ernie
  18. I thought I had seen one at Limerick and on checking here it is. May 2003. I don't think they were regularly serviced here though. Ernie
  19. I visited Dundalk in October 2000 and video'd a pair of light 141's heading north and later 072 arrived from Belfast with 3 container wagons and half a dozen bubbles. After shunting the Dundalk yard a couple of 4w Guiness, 2 or 3 containers and some more bubbles were added to the train. This is 072 after shunting off the bubbles from Belfast so that the Dundalk bogie wagons could be added to the head of the train. Traffic to and from Belfast was becoming increasingly sparse. Ernie
  20. Progress has been slow over the Summer and Autumn but I have started basic scenic work on the remaining station board. The arrival of my Tara rake today was an excuse to take some photos and actually run a train.
  21. Here is J15 119 arriving at Sligo late 1940's early 50's.. Checking through the files I have discovered another 75 odd JW Armstrong /ARPT images to upload to Flickr when I get the time. Smoke box door handle and the tender differ from the 00Works offering. Ernie
  22. 2 Nos. 21 & 22 supplied to the Dublin & Belfast Junction Railway rather than the Dublin & Drogheda Co. BP 1159 & 60 July 1872. Re-numbered 41 & 42 on formation Of GNRI and re-built 1888-89 and again 1913-15 by which time they bore little resemblance to the 101 Class. Scrapped 1937 and 1934. Info from Norman Johnston's Locomotives of the GNRI Ernie
  23. I was thinking if he had 9 children the rubber would have just fallen off the tattered remains of his stick anyway or possibly being of an irritable disposition somebody had had it in for him (several times!) Ernie
  24. Dark Blue number 27504 (Might be a digit in front of that!). It features in the extra bit added on to the latest version of the Markle video "Irish Rail Archive Volume 6 SUGAR BEET UPDATED" This covers 1984 to 2005 with plenty of A Class coverage and also views inside the Beet unloader at Mallow and on top of the loading gantry at Wellington Bridge. Ernie
