  1. Have to say I kinda like it. The 70s look super when dirtied up too, but it's not the best of liveries out there. It looks mental on the 90s. My FL 66 bears that very name. They would've looked great in triple grey, mind you every loco that ever got that livery did. Best livery ever, along with Intercity. A golden time and probably my favourite of all with BR transitional a close second...
  2. Have we not heard these rumours many times before and they never seem to become reality? I would love to see more freight as much as everyone else but I think it's a case of 'I'll believe it when I see it.' Those 201s may be heavily stripped in some cases, but maybe they could rebuild a few good ones out of them and bin the rest. EMD parts are readily available too if all were needed but I can't see that happening.
  3. Get ready to see a UK 66 in the newer Class 70 Freightliner livery in the next week or so. A couple have been so treated in Poland... http://www.kw.rail.pl/data/media/227/DSC_2805.jpg
  4. Two stroke engines have a higher idle rate compared to four stroke. All Irish (and pretty much all other) EMDs are 2 stroke.
  5. Will see what I can do.
  6. They look so good in blue. Thanks Steven!
  7. You're making me seriously jealous now! Do Marklin do E18s? Another favourite of mine.
  8. 103s were always a favourite of mine Steven, one of the greatest locos ever.
  9. Oh and Bowser announced the Canadian GMD version of the SD40-2. You'll have to sell a kidney!
  10. Top job Eamonn, looks great!
  11. Haha both. Seriously tempted by the Chessie GP40-2s for some reason. May hold off for Rio Grande though. Then there's 111 in that early NIR blue....
  12. Looks like you'll be happy with Athearn's latest announcement today. Great day for EMD diesel announcements!
  13. Both 111 and 8113 are limited runs of 250 each according to the Model Shop Belfast Facebook page
  14. Looks fantastic, I'm sure Anto and Kirley will be happy!
  15. They're here, finally! And to prove it, a dreadful pic of mine... Must say the overall fit and finish does look to have been greatly improved to me. Well done MM!
  16. Must say the Portarlington station buildings are pretty. Skerries too.
  17. Interesting, herself's mother hails from Cootehill. Might try to go for a gander next time I'm there...
  18. Very nice as always Popeye, any chance of seeing more of your layout?
  19. Think you recall right. I mist admit I preferred the old Bedford TKs. I seem to remember them as flatbeds with either a tail lift or a dropside at the end and small old style containers on them. Anybody know of any pics of them?
  20. The Mitsubushi rigid might still be around Inchicore. It definitely was around a year ago. Might be an internal stores truck now. I remember there were a few of these, some in all over black too at one stage.
  21. Nice! These are currently going for 90 of the queens notes at model junction. No sound of course!
