  1. Also doing a wickham trolley. Anything similar to that amongst Irish permanent way?
  2. Early teens is very cheap, considering that a pair of bachmann autoballasters in Irish livery is 110 euro. Could that bring the economies of scale better in line? I'm not so cheap though
  3. What would my commission be if I did?
  4. A project for real track models so? Go on, you know you want to!
  5. Congrats man!
  6. Nice Seamus! What scale and kit maker is that? Motorised?

    New Arrival

I believe our esteemed leader BosKonay has had a new addition to to family. Congrats Stephen, hope mother and child are doing well!
  8. Please feel free to post your pics!
  9. Another Sunday afternoon project. This time a BN two bay covered hopper. Well done Marks for giving me something to do!
  10. Will know tomorrow what days I'm off. Thinking Kildare or Portarlington on Thurs.... Will be in touch
  11. Any idea if she is to be released into the wild this week? Might have a few days off and wouldn't mind a video. Any info from credible sources will be much obliged!
  12. Wish I spotted it myself. Could've done with a cheap tranny tractor.
  13. Thats a real top job Kirley, well done on that as it looks like the hours of work you put into the kit was worth it, especially around the cab fronts and roof.
  14. Absolutely riveting stuff (sorry!) brilliant model making!
  15. Fair play joe. If judging by the year in your username you're the same age as my good self.
  16. Nice rendition of the Q kits model Dave, the weathering looks good. Fancy commissioning Bachmann to do a RTR version? It will always be the dream!
  17. Again!?! Thought IE never cleaned them to begin with! Lol
  18. Best of luck with the venture lads, €130 for a kit is very reasonable. Bachmann have a lot of 0-6-0 steam locos out or in the pipeline, might be worth a look. Then look at spares for the front truck...
  19. Beat me to it! Got the email myself. Plenty of 201s there including the almost rare River Shannon. So tempted to plump for the Bachmann Tinsley 20s twin pack if I had the cash and not had two Dapol Westerns, Heljan Garratt and two 071s to buy!
  20. The glazing makes such a difference to it, well done on going down that road.
  21. Yep, confirmed in Railway Modeller as L&B http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/68054-ready-to-run-oo9-loco-from-heljan/#entry942457
  22. Heljan are to do a RTR 009 loco, a 2-6-2 I believe. Could this be of any use to Irish narrow gauge modellers, even as a chassis donor?
  23. Yes, they're pretty poor compared to Bachmann's output around the rest of the world. All you have to do is look at UK outline stock, Murphy's 141s, their Chinese outline locos and the American stuff to see the world of difference. Yes, if there is one thing I cannot stand doing in this hobby and have no hope of doing properly it's painting stock. That's why I admire the work some of the lads do and put on here. They really have great skills. This way i can nail together a simple kit while watching the telly and not have to worry about painting.
  24. Hi and welcome to the site! Looks good to me, what methods did you use?
