  1. Believe or not lifting rings aren't really used on British diesels. I'm struggling to think of any in fact!
  2. Aha, thought they were different all right. They look better than the Silver Fox ones to me. I wonder is the Silver Fox ones to scale, or made to suit the wheelbase of the donor bogies? Sorry for dragging your thread off topic. Lifting rings, would these be of use? HO for US diesels, but at this size scale would be negligible http://www.ebay.com/itm/Detail-Associates-HO-1101-Lift-Rings-18-/230851345358 I have bought plenty off this Ebay shop in the past, very good service.
  3. Dundrum isnt a million miles away, just say you're off to try something on and disappear for an hour....
  4. Was just wondering Dave. Wow, 80 tables, it's going to be big!
  5. I have to say I like the DDs, find them very comfortable and they're nice enough place to sit. No Mark III but the ride is decent. The Cork coaches are pretty awful though, seats are poor/hard, the ride is poor too, the feel like they hunt all over the place. Don't feel especially well made either. The ICRs are nicer, even with a engine under your feet. The worst of all though currently is the 1st generation Japanese DART units. Feel like you're leaning on a window ledge than sitting down!
  6. The real thing running on a special last month
  7. Yep. Should be a really good day out.
  8. I forgot about this thread, as a avid reader of Traction (mmm, all those Brit heritage diesels) the Irish article was a bonus, lovely pics and well researched article. Well worth picking up. Hope there'll be more to come.
  9. Cheers lads, that's interesting and Kirley has done a great job on them, hence I thought they were new mouldings. I still think there's a lot wrong with the Silverfox model, but it's all we got!
  10. In the UK a lot of people sell a loco in bits on Ebay, they tend to make more than selling the loco complete. I'm guessing this is what that fella is at. Spare parts are few and far between from UK outline manufacturers.
  11. Can we get a closer look at them bogie sideframes you have? They look much much better than those awful Silverfox ones to me!
  12. My Homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star!
  13. More rebranding? You'd wonder why when they're going to be privatised in the next couple of years.
  14. The layout seems to have gotten a huge amount of positive feedback on the RMWeb Warley thread, fair play to the MRSI!
  15. Where are we going? Cajon Pass I hope!
  16. It so is, the variety is gone or is rotting in sidings. Just as accessible and cheap HD recording equipment became readily available
  17. No problem, it offered it on my last video upload and I selected it, felt dreadful after watching it! You might be able to fix it if you go to the following; Log into youtube Go to 'video manager' find the video you want to fix and click on 'edit' Click on 'Enhancements' in the dark grey toobalr a 'stabilise' button should be on the right hand side of the page, you may be able to switch it off here. Hope that is of help!
  18. YouTube now gives you an option to 'eliminate shaking' from your video and this is the result, ends up making you feel seasick. It can be turned off by the uploader too. I'd defo take the shaky camera over it!
  19. Cool, just in case someone bought something thinking it was something else!
