That's a lot of faffing around though for me. Advanced consisting would sort out the lights when two locos are put together and when you put them back they can return to normal without extensive programming. I see the new chips are made by Soundtraxx as opposed to ESU (who made the old Bachmann 21 pin and 8 pin chip) and is in the Blue Pullman. I can say that they are super smooth in my BP and the yank tsunami sound decoders I have are top notch control and sound wise.

I like to have the extra power especially on long trains and big gradients Seamus. And sometimes I'd want to run them single too. DCC gives you nice flexibility to do both.

Yep, interesting to see how good they are and what price they will be. I have 141s, 20s and 37s I'd like to pair up! Be interesting to see if they're any use in the 071s and 201s too.

True man, will be interesting to see. Will have to take a trip out when it escapes onto the mainline for a video if it is. Hopefully Dave will be secure the photo and share it. Bachmann announce their products for the year in March. I'd say they'll announce the rights to do it (ala like they did with the 70) and it will come out in about 18 months time or so. That's if they choose to do it. I read that some will be delivered in Northern Belle livery too so there will be 2 liveries to do.

Lol The 68 is an upgrade on the 67, with a new power unit and made from lighter materials (the 67 has a bit of a weight issue, restricting it from lots of lines) The strange one will always be the 70, as on the tops numbering system number 70 and above was traditionally for electric traction. It'll be interesting to see who does a model of it 1st. The livery looks well, not sure about the face. A bit like an ugly but well dressed lady!

Interesting Dave, looks like the freight livery didn't last that long. Any word from your spies about the stored orange 201s? That were all out of the storage sidings when I went past Inchicore last week.

Check out the SD45, SD45-2 or SD45T-2. Like a SD40-2 only louder and more powerful!

Fair enough GM071, can't wait to see how you correct the roof issue yourself, hopefully you'll share your methods with us so others can use similar methods. I understand where you are coming from, and as I said elsewhere I will use my wallet to support these products, but I think it's only right that we can call a spade a spade. I personally do not think I will buy one of these kits as it just doesn't look like a sulzer to me. Maybe finished projects from people on here will help me change my mind but at the moment I will keep my wallet in my pocket. This might sound harsh but he would have more customers if it better and these comments wouldn't be happening. As for your last comment, I totally agree. However, I think the greater demand for more accurate and authentic models has lead to the riches we enjoy now like the Murphy 141 etc. If we didn't demand higher standard we might be still running Lima 33s! The standard has been upped and we want better standards. This seems to hark back to the old days in my opinion. Anthony is a modeller whose skills I massively respect. I have seen his kit built locos 1st hand and they're the best fist of MIR kits I've seen (and they weren't exactly great quality kits to begin with) and seeing the struggle he is having just confirms that these kits are beyond my modelling ability to make a good model of the prototype (to the standard not to look embarrassed next to a Murphy's 141). I would put his words down to frustration when working on them to be honest and I think we have moved on from that.
