    She's a beauty, many thanks for the video. She has a nice elegance to her too, unlike a lot of north American steam locos. I have one 4-8-4. a BLI Southern Pacific GS4. It's a rare one in that it actually works properly! Diecast, smoke unit, sound and very smooth. [video=youtube;HRF76IzPT-Q] I don't think she's as pretty as yours though! I think A4Mallard took some close up pics of this, I have none myself. I have a couple of other freight kettles but I really like the balance of American 4-8-4s. And yes, that is a Rapido steam generator I believe?

    Always remember that the purists on here were beginners once too and make plenty of mistakes along the way. Having a go is the most important part, and you'll learn from any mistakes you make and love the results when something goes right! Fair play for having a go!

    Nice one Fitzy, you can't go wrong with Kato. I have a few AC4400s and Dash 9s like yours in HO, they're gorgeous in every way. Look forward to seeing the layout progress.

    Available in model form from Athearn, the sweetest running loco I own. They do the verandas and originals. I fitted sound to her. They're doing big discounts on the Verandas at the moment.

    Interesting, I was only aware of that trial livery. What did the other ones look like? Any pictures of them around?

    The 141s do not have cab lights. The 3 function decoder covers all the needs for these locos. However, these chips do not support 'advanced consisting', so if you plan to double head your locos correctly then you would have to look at something like the TCS decoder. The 4 function decoder would be compatible with the loco (All Bachmann stuff complies with the NMRA standard) but I'm not sure if it does support 'advanced consisting'. Of course if you do not plan to double head your Baby GMs then the 3 function decoder is fine. Or you could just give both locos the same number and run them in tandem.

    Not at all, a few Genesis heritage schemers are currently next to it too. I didn't get anything train related this year (yet!) but my beloved did facilitate my love of Star Wars and lego. I reckon this will keep me busy for a while... Nice loco Shinkansen, John Mayner should be able to provide you with prototype info on them.
