  1. Maybe you have a better ear than me, which wouldn't be hard since I'm half deaf from playing music excessively loud as a lad! As said earlier, it's down the the RPM. 645 has a bigger bore too of course, but I'm too deaf to notice the difference. Turbo'ed 567, 645 and 710 all sound different to me though.
  2. Is it down to the number of cylinders per engine? I know the tsunami just offered a '645' for instance, which is anything between an 8 and 20 cylinder block. Yank outline customers were asking for specific sound recordings for each one (8, 12, 16, 20 etc)
  3. Pack A available once again! We have been working tirelessly to dispatch pre-orders to our customers over the past couple of weeks, a herculean task in itself! There are still a limited number of packs B and C left to order with us. We also have freed up a limited amount of pack A thanks to swapping out for packs B and C with customers. You can order here: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/product/cie-ir-ie-two-axle-ballast-wagon-multi-pack/ Stock is running low so make sure you secure your order with us asap! Thanks to Noel Enright for letting us use one of his pictures of the ballasts on his wonderful Tara Junction layout!
  4. You'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between the rootes blown 645 and the 567 originally fitted. It's quite subtle.
  5. It's in a private Facebook group which isn't available to non-members. The likes of YouTube and flickr are better hosting options for video for forums like here
  6. Happy Friday everyone! We are dispatching another lot of ballast wagons to customers today and the stock pile is growing ever smaller. Here is some pictures of ballasts on another great layout. Note the use of instanter couplers! Keep an eye on our Facebook page and forum for news of an exciting event which we will be announcing shortly!
  7. Nice shots Neil. Last time I was on the Gospel Oak to Barking it was a 150 in Silverlink livery. Gospel Oak is a nice place to watch cross London freight too. Great pics!
  8. I find this term completely quackers to be honest...
  9. He isn't, Kevin. He's been here before under a different name.
  10. Cheers Noel! The Belmond blue is a dark one and tricky to shoot in bright sunlight. Reminds me of the old GNER blue across the pond. Lovely shade in the flesh, mind...
  11. Just the one from me today. Nice to see an 071 on a train of Mark IIIs again 081 on the Belmond 081 Belmond Clondalkin/Fonthill by franburke, on Flickr
  12. Unfortunately Merlin failed this morning so 4 is working the whole tour throughout. She put on a fine display working up the grade through Clondalkin this morning Steamy Jeep by franburke, on Flickr
  13. Hi Paddy, Parkside do them https://railsofsheffield.com/mounting-blocks-for-bachmann-36-027-mk2-couplings-nem-shaft-cranked-with-pocket-x10-pa34-parkside-dundas-JJJA18791.aspx Bachmann have done them in the past too but supply tends to be patchy.
  14. Correct Noel, we announced their availability there back in March http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/4992-Irish-Railway-Models-Launch/page56 Glad you're happy with yours!
  15. I'm pretty sure the Hornby jinty features a generic 0-6-0 chassis which also went under their old 08 and pannier tank. The Bachmann model of the jinty would have a more accurate wheelbase.
  16. Another lot of orders went out today so there will be more arriving to homes around the country tomorrow and Thursday
  17. Thanks very much for the kind words and custom!
  18. Thanks Noel. We're rather pleased it has to be said. Eamonn also did a nice wee video too EDIT: Broithe beat me to it
  19. Our friend Eamonn Redmond sent us these great photos of the IRM ballast wagons running around the superb 'Ballybeg' layout last night. We think they look right at home! We have begun dispatching orders out to customers late this week, and if you paid for postage and packaging you can expect your wagons to turn up in the coming week, with international orders coming soon after that. There are many of you who have selected 'exhibition pick up' for your wagons. Please let us know if you would rather them posted out to you now via info@irishrailwaymodels.com We would also love to put up pictures and videos of the wagons running on your layout so feel free to add them here too!
  20. Hi Noel, great to see you're working on a model, but not sure it fits in on this thead as it's to do with the Murphy 121 and you have also posted it elsewhere. Cross posting is discouraged. Thanks.
  21. We had a fantastic time at the Bangor show this weekend. A big thank you to all the North Down Model Railway Society members for putting on a great show and being so accommodating. A big thank you to everyone who popped by the stand for a chat and an order too. It was great to see new faces as well as old friends! Today we're working hard on all the web orders placed. We're checking each pack to make sure they're good enough to grace your layouts!
  22. I think the edit addition to the post and the banter you two had at the show today explained it perfectly Kieran. Not sure what the issue is?
  23. We're not long back in Dublin and have the feet up after a very long but great weekend! We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of you who have supported us with orders, encouragement and positive feedback. We would also like to thank you all who came by and say hello this weekend in Bangor. It was great to meet new faces and old friends. A big thank you to the North Down Model Railway Society for all their great hospitality. It was a great, excellently run show. We can get some rest now before the real craic of posting orders begins tomorrow! It's going to take a while to power through them but we'll get there as quick as we can!
  24. Thanks for all the amazing feedback men! Was great to meet so many of you today! We got amazing levels of positive feedback and seeing them on layouts and being enjoyed makes all the hard work worth while!
  25. It's never ending!!! Someone please bring us breakfast rolls in the morning!
