  1. Can you take these grievances and sort them elsewhere instead of going off on one on multiple topics on here please Dave? The forum is nothing to do with any transaction or arrangement between two parties. You're both big boys who have multiple forms of communication. Please use them rather than airing them on here. Thanks.
  2. true in one sense, but plenty of people still run their MIR 141s and 071s and enjoy them every day. That 121 is a handbuilt model and as of the time of writing there is no alternative if you want a 121 on your layout.
  3. No, it'll still work perfectly fine?
  4. Many SW1500's used a nice Canon motor, rather than the stock 'bluebox' mech so they can be beautiful runners. It'll be nice and heavy too would pull well.
  5. That's one of the best MIR 121's I've seen. Lovely job and well worth the outlay.
  6. I believe there is a doppler effect and you can place multiple speakers across the layout to make the sound travel. better review of it here
  7. This is a somewhat interesting idea by Broadway limited, but wouldn't think it is for me. I wonder how successful it has been.
  8. Interesting to see River Shannon is seen as rare and in demand. I put my one up for sale last year and there was no interest, not even an offer so I kept hold of it. Maybe I'll eBay it and see.
  9. You have a PM Noel.
  10. True Noel, the last thing you want your loco doing is jerking off to a start.
  11. I remember them in Telecom Eireann livery too. That would make for a nice model. Think both should have the later grill but that's really nitpicking.
  12. We don't have access to members PMs but I'm sure all was treated above board by Tony. And Noel, there is seriously no need for that attitude and the back seat modding. Thank you.
  13. The real 216 is a lovely respray. Looks better done than the Belmond coaches, but that might be my eyes. Lovely job Tony, great to see your work on here. Hope we get to see more
  14. If you make a 42ft flat you'd be well equipped from the experience to make other stuff thereafter I reckon. Good place to start.
  15. Magazines like Model Rail do very thorough running reviews at all speeds under varying loads. The performance is always explained in their written reviews for everyone to read. If they showed such performance on their online advertising videos then it would be giving customers another reason not to buy the magazine as they could see the review for free, rather than buying the magazine. Model Rail has even gone into detail on the building of their test layout with gradients, curves etc shown and explained to replicate typical operating conditions customers will put the locos through.

  17. Thanks men, we think the pics speak for themselves. We're getting very excited about them. As Bosko says, they've been selling well since we published pics of the pre-production model and brought it round the clubs. Thanks Noel, the paint finish with the patch paint marks and the decals like above will feature on the finished model. The models wont be weathered as we felt that factory weathering wouldnt be a patch on the services offered by the likes of Grahams, George Norman, Tony Mirolo, Anthony Smyth and indeed our own Glenderg. Their skills will truly do the wagons justice and I'm sure most are up for commissions.
  18. So, we decided to paint and weather our pre-production ballast wagon up and put a load in to see how it looked. Wonky buffer aside, what do you think? We're currently working with the factory in China on our snag list with this sample and should soon have factory decorated, corrected samples to share.
  19. Fly home tomorrow dude, sorry!
  20. Correct, they can still work out slightly cheaper than buying in Europe, exchange rate permitting. Alternatively, go on well earned holiday to the states, buy locally or from somewhere like train world and get shipped to the hotel.
  21. Belmond blue and DRS blue look near identical!
  22. Thanks Jimbo and rest assured we will be keeping you all in the loop with future releases as the progress like we have with the ballast wagon. We see no need for secrets, though a surprise or two along the way is nice, right?
