  1. I’m not sure about that either. As far as I’m aware some of the older coaches were some of the first to be repainted! A proof few GSWR/GSR bogey coaches were painted black and tank in 1962/63 in cork. Though I could have sworn I’ve seen the livery on 6 wheelers in 1962. Why apply this livery to anchient coaches? I’m not sure. Maybe it was because they were due for a paint anyway.
  2. What does the L&BER thing stand for? Or is at least trying to stand for
  3. Kinsale Branch photos (closed 1931) are very scarce wen it was open. If a photographer was around cork in the 1920s ect. They tended to go for the lines with better views/character (passage, muskerry, bantry, skibbereen, clonakikty, courtmacsherry and schull all probobly having more pull then the branch) Photos seem to have been exclusivly taken by military photographers. So far in my years of living I have seen 3 or 4 of it while it was still in use, none of them particularly useful and all of which taking much digging to find! Recently I was asked to find a photo of Trim station on the MGWR branch and I couldn’t find anything of that station either.
  4. that would be correct yes
  5. Btw here is the belturbet Ruston and the one that eventually ended up as a steam train in Clonakilty
  6. Yes that’s right (and you wouldn’t have to paint the buffers ) While the rowntree one is closest to RPSI spec livery. It ufortunately has big windows on the back so wouldn’t have worn that livery there is a picture somehere on the RPSI website of Carlow no.1 in CSE condition. Light green with yellow lining and CSE initials between the windows roughly
  7. A Ruston 165DS like the one in Tuam is possibly on Hornbys radar to “finish off the range” The hejian one also seems to have a different cab. Also heljians record as far as I know with quality models is not the best I may pick up an 88DS second hand or when the 2nd round come out. And modify to “Halfway vintage club” livery
  8. Has this not been announced for months?!?!
  9. Previously covered in this thread
  10. See if it’s being upkept well. Not to many Irish mark 3s will survive
  11. “This week I was on the internet and I found this” https://caraghnurseries.ie/caragh-design-studio/?fbclid=IwAR3LLLewtvMkCK3-TqZRzWwbWh3YniUuvISH-5wZd_p9BzCp9ePgepcUVAo
  12. It went directly from tuam lasted ran in 1993 Take a peak inside chaps
  13. We’re they also behind the “Inchicore 150” cork shed layout that was at Inchicore works at the door on the open day
  14. No home you say….I’m sure I could find that bandon tank a home in all seriousness though these are some great models….with an interesting backstory in themselves. I know that missus fry used to run the trains up and down the track herself
  15. The fact 472 made it to 1961 in dugort cannon is quite interesting. It has been involved in the kinsale Crash of 1915 of which there were 2 fatalities so it could be a “cursed” engine
  16. The new ones have new features. I know for sure they have Pre-fited speakers!!!
  17. The postage costs more then the starting bid on some of these still kicking myself I didn’t pick up those RTR dapol wagons converted to GNR. They’dve ran on the west cork as I’m after learning!
  18. They are currently going down but I believe they will stagnate if not increase due to people not knowing the difference between the old and new variants!!!!
  19. I can’t remember but I think @Nileshad info on these coaches. I think as you say, there gone now.
  20. Looks really solid guys! another step closer to J26…hell of the chassis so low enough it could make a good bandon chassis for me!
  21. I think it’s no problem
  22. What a rotten coach…must be scrapped now Has a pair of reading glasses been purchased since?!
  23. A debate that occurs doe at the cork branch often is should money have been put into the 400 and 500 classes instead of building the 800s
  24. New smoke box door and get ride of the outside cylinders… presumably a model of that has not been made cause if it was… The dark green hattons coaches would be almost perfect I would say a 101 too. They worked till the end of steam in Ireland….and beyond
