A Saturday afternoon of some passenger train action on Tara junction involving some Cravens, Mk2, Mk2 A/B and Mk3 push pull rolling stock and 071, 201 2x141/181s locomotives. Thanks to a good friend who was in charge of operations as I took the video from a different angle and to our dog who wanted to chase the Mk2 A/B set....

A night time scene on Tara junction as retro 071 passes hauling the bogie spoil wagons to Gorey and 0117072 passes hauling the empty bogie timber train to Westport.

Just had a look and there is one GM only as part of a set of ten,thanks.

Got the GM power unit a few years ago for one of my 201, They don t seem to produce that version anymore.

They really represent the late 1990s 2000 era on Irish rail, I was fortunate to drive one in Ballina freight yard between 1999 and 2001 -
(appropriate wagon yet.) I'll take twenty two axle wagons loaded with coal and oil containers-representing the Foynes-Ballina coal & oil train of the 80s & 90s

Not gonna happen jhb....more chance of getting a 2600 railcar into original Arrow livery and locomotive 234 repainted into its original as delivered livery....

073 had been stopped after failing while working the IWT liner from Ballina and ended up being next in line for the body work overhaul and repaint, It had been initially suggested to the IE CME that 088 would be receive the IR livery to compliment 071 e.g.first and last locomotives but the decision was left to the CME, None of us minded so long as we got an 071 repainted into the IR livery.... and the rest is history......

Late night/early morning arrival of the Guinness liner at the Lakeview rail freight yard-The 2x181s were uncoupled immediately after arrival and went to the MPD for servicing.

Hmm I do have some B&T 141/181s in storage... After seeing the photos a mixed pair would look great doubled up with a 141 /181....

Delighted to see Kieran's fabulous layout being featured in the iconic Railway modeller- it is well deserved for the time and effort that he has put in over the last few years, he is a gentleman and I have always looked forward to meeting him at the various exhibitions to catch up, Looking forward to purchasing the magazine.
