    Had another thought, as I"m new to things Irish, is there a supplier of Inchicore style smokebox fronts/doors and also the built up chimney used on large CIE locos? For me those highly visible parts are a signature that says GSR/CIE. Mike

    I ask because, in Clements&McMahon Locomotivies of the GSR there are a couple of close ups that appear to show a white and black line that makes a panel on the bunker rear and up around the cabside cut out. I did use a magnifying glass! And my wife also thinks the same and could she be wrong?!

    Did this loco run in lined green? and would it have been a similar green to the livery on the Maunsell 2-6-0"s. Looking for a bit of help here!

    I am aiming for Sunday,coming from the flatlands of Lincolnshire means at least two change of train so will be in the car. Why does this hobby attract the great unwashed? Spalding was pretty noxious at times. So who will be clutching the rolled up newspaper with the flower between their teeth???? Just so as I know!

    Last weekend was the Spalding MRC show, as usuall lots of interesting layouts.But KIlbrandon was the star,for me! Ran well ,good atmosphere,well detailed and set in 1900 County Cork. Paul Greene who owns it has taken it to the Belfast Show so it does travel well. 5ft3" gauge looks really good in S scale and there are some stills on the S scale website. Worth looking.

    I also would take a model of 461, if you think about its appeal over lots of era"s why not put the idea to Mr Murphy? Just look at all the small market locos appearing on the British scene,I"ll bet superD"S are not flying off shelves like they did when first released. And ready to run must have a wide appeal to the younger market. Is"nt 461 on coil springs? this would give a very bouncey ride as there would be little damping, which is what you get with leaf springs.
