  1. One of the other carriages was missing the logo on the doors. As said elsewhere, small mistakes but at the price I would prefer to spend on IRM models.
  2. Had ordered a couple of the Murphy Models Galway Livery but sent them back, just unhappy with the livery finish as previously mentioned here and the fact the gangways were grey. Very disappointed. But full marks to IRM for their customer support.
  3. An example of how badly preservation efforts can fail. The council has to take responsibility for preservation of the loco I believe.
  4. I was there a while back and was also surprised at the state of buildings and station area in general. I hope everything is ok with the owner, Jackie.
  5. Industrial locomotives on the move. Penrhyn Castle plans to share more about its industrial history in a new experience as it rehomes some of its locomotives https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/services/media/penrhyn-castle-plans-to-share-more-about-its-industrial-history-in-a-new-experience-as-it-rehomes-some-of-its-locomotives
  6. Saw the mk2s in Marks Models today. The orange roof carriages looked impressive. The gangways on some of Galway liveried ones were light grey while others were black. Is this another error?
  7. Hi guys, It may have been discussed before but what was the standard consist of a Galway Livery train? Were they Galway coaches ever used in mixed trains of MK2 after?
  8. I'd love to see a guard's van (with working lamps of course) to go with the bulleid and other freight wagons.
  9. How many were in a typical beet train in the 80s?
  10. Am unsure if WSVR pit it there or it was in situ when CIE abandoned the station.
  11. Interestingly, there was a semaphore signal placed in that location some time later. Am not sure if that has any connection to the item shown.
  12. Hi folks, Can anyone advise what the piece of infrastructure is, outlined in green? I am guessing it is a platform for the signalman to hand over the ETS token to a driver? Are there any other photos of such infrastructure or plans? It is nit very clear in the photo. https://scontent.fdub2-3.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/277728921_10220063211387483_467474855476735848_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_p180x540&_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=0f5592&_nc_ohc=DP5gYmzHUZAAX8SOurA&_nc_ht=scontent.fdub2-3.fna&oh=00_AfBwEYn5LzXCWsVF_UICZ0hPeacZP_TKNdWFjN-mVJxA0g&oe=64DD641D From facebook.
  13. Received the same email. Am very disappointed.
  14. Condolences on your brother's passing.
  15. If not, am happy to take them in Wexford !
  16. Believe 4 levers left and some of the mechanism below. Inspecting of the timbres is due to be undertaken this week. Unsure how much is worth saving. Windows are basic aluminium frames. Wooden sills and panelling fairly rotten.
  17. Mayner, I was simply noting changes on the line. Actually there is an effort to preserve what is left of the mechanism by the WSVR.
  18. With the closure of the New Ross line and the planned new development of a station opposite the clock tower in Waterford as part of the North Quays development, Abbey Junction Signal Box is soon to be removed by the contractors, BAM.
  19. My error, apologies. Thanks for the info.
  20. Once the tallest in Ireland, Portarlington signal cabin , County Laois , was built in the 1920s. It closed in 1976 and was later demolished. This photo dated 20th May 1971 Image source the Carlisle Kid
  21. Would love any tickets to/from Kilmeaden in Co Waterford
  22. Tullow Railway Station signal cabin (no longer in existence I believe) Rathvilly Signal Box (unsure but existed in 1981)
  23. Woodenbridge Station, Co Wicklow
  24. Macmine Junction - station no longer in existence as DSER Macmine to New Ross line closed.
