  1. Second one is almost definitely Rosbercon (New Ross) facing Waterford direction. Station building on left was for passengers with a small shelter on the far platform, building on right was the goods shed. Bridge is now located in Rosslare Strand. In the photo below the small shelter has been removed.
  2. Hi guys, Anyone identify the location of this cement train and approx date? From Ebay.
  3. Were there any attempts to use oil / diesel to fire steam engines at any stage? Would oil be much less efficient than coal to operate an engine?
  4. Hi guys, Can anyone identify the narrow gauge locomotives used on the Baldonnell construction railway? Photos from 1918 I believe. I have read they were from different manufacturers and eventually went to India. The two narrow gauge trains would convey up to 200 workmen each on up to 25 open wagons with back-to-back seats. Waiting lorries would convey anyone who could not be accommodated on the trains. Supplies for the canteens were also carried. The number of troops stationed at Baldonnell occasionally reached the 1700 mark and at times included American and Canadian soldiers.
  5. MK3 and laminates would break me finacially but would really love them!!!
  6. Which of these great models would have been seen on the Irish freight liners and during which years?
  7. I think it may be too big for a carriage lamp. Is listed as a railway lamp and I thought it may be a part of a point indicator as @Mike 84C suggests.
  8. Could anyone identify this type of lamp for me and its use?
  9. I have not bought a sound chip before and was wondering if people could advise which is best for the new 121? The Murphy Models or the Wheeltappers chip?
  10. Kernow jus emailed to say they have 2 for me
  11. There is a film made in Enniscorthy station called Underground (1969) Never seen it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066505/locations
  12. Thank you, got tracking number in my email. Hopefully will arrive soon.
  13. "Needless to say - the Health and Safety commissars have had their say ( how in gods name did countless generations of Borris Youth play on the viaduct for over 150 years and nobody fell off) and the new structures have provoked mixed comment to put it politely." There is an interesting clip on youtube when 'Off the Beaten Track' was filmed. No health and safety concerns then or worries about setting a bad example for the wild youth of the day lol
  14. Walked it the other week. Very Impressive. What happened to the end towards the town, was it originally as large earth bank?
  15. These are a few photos of the Enniscorthy crane which would have been installed by the same railway company as the one in New Ross. Interesting to see how securely the feet secure the base into what I presume is concrete. Remarkably good condition gives its age but it is secure behind electric gates and fencing.
  16. I also need spare vacuum hoses.
