  1. Depends on the Greens and whether they will value the rail network and maintain for future generations.
  2. That's coming with the Oilgate bypass due to start soon whenever they decide which route will do the most damage for least cost. Bye bye Piercestown https://wexfordtoday.com/2020/06/29/council-seeks-views-on-oilgate-to-rosslare-bypass/
  3. I guess I know the answer but are all the wagons independently numbered and different from those that have come before?
  4. Saw this as a proposed plan for the Rosslare Port. CIE in competition with Waterford Port and Dublin Port? Reason to believe the Rosslare Waterford Line will be revitalised?
  5. Or even a few Park Royals to go with the Cravens?
  6. The wikipedia page for the ITG suggested something different: "The group is also building a museum at Moyasta on the West Clare Railway to hold some of their locomotives. At present four locomotives, A3R, 124, 152, and 190 are located in Moyasta." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Traction_Group#External_links
  7. Is it ITG or Jackie Whelan looking to create the museum? What is the relationship between them does anyone know? https://clarechampion.ie/wheels-turning-for-west-clare-railway-expansion/
  8. Not any more. Some are available though such as from: http://models11.com/Murphy Models
  9. WOW am tempted to offload my few if that is the price they achieve. I wonder how much a baby gm and a rake of cravens would go for?
  10. If you go into Facebook and search 'Class 121 Niall Redmond' you will be brought to his page with the original photo @DiveController
  11. Interestingly, the lamp I picked up was red with the slit at the back so I wonder was it originally a signal lamp used as a last minute spare for a level crossing?
  12. Good morning all, Can someone provide some information on the different types of level crossing / signal lamps? I have seen similar lamps to the one shown, painted red (suggesting used on level crossing sin the south east) but of two different types: 1) Type as shown painted red with two lenses 2) Same cast body type but one lens and on the back a rectangular glassed section as seen in these second photo. My questions are: a) were different types of lamps used for signals and level crossings? b) what colour were the lenses on level crossings? c) how often would the reservoirs of paraffin have to be refilled? d) if the single lens lamp is for signals, what way did they point (bullseye towards the coloured glass in the arm?) Thanks
  13. For those who may be down in Waterford, the Waterford Suir Valley Railway is back running with the rolling stock in a new livery. More importantly the shop now sells 99s! Booking is now online with new safety precautions for staff and visitors. Some weed spraying is needed!

  15. Wonder what it was doing in Wexford unless working Wexford to Rosslare for ferry traffic?
  16. Cheers. Any idea where I could find more info? It would have been in the late 1880 early 1890s? They had a long life span! Were they for mixed traffic?
  17. Hi guys, This photo is for sale on eBay and says it is a GSR loco at Wexford. Can anyone identify the type of loco and rough date? Might it be a GSWR E3 0-4-4?
  18. Hi guys, I know there has been discussion about engines being changed on the 121s Can some more knowledgeable member tell me which sound DCC chip is suitable for each of the 121s becoming available? Thanks
  19. George, I was the exact same, was so disappointed after the amazing Cravens and the other MK 2s.
  20. Looks like the twin of mine! One is enough for me lol I hope they were removed by Irish rail and not swiped by opportunists. Given the number of level crossings on the Waterford Rosslare line there must dozens of them out there.
  21. It's interesting if you look at the level crossings of the Waterford to Rosslare line on google street view, shoes them in place on the gates but took a spin out this evening and all are gone now. I wonder what happened to them?
