  1. I don't think so Fran. Hopefully it will be etched finer for the production model. The model really captures the bulk of the prototype. I had a good look at 075 on Friday up close, and you really forget how huge they are when you see them from the ground as opposed to the platform. It's hard to believe that by the end of the year we will have had 4 different classes of GM locos produced by PM in what is a very short period, when you compare how long the prototypes have been around. The more pre production pics I see, the more I can't wait for October. Rich,
  2. He's got the real look of a character from a Blaxploitation movie. Rich,
  3. That's the one Jim, thanks for that. Rich,
  4. Anto I should of course have added excellent work as usual mate. Rich,
  5. Anto I remember seeing a tool a few years ago for painting rail sides. I will see if I can find the resource again. Rich,
  6. Thanks for uploading the pics Kirley, you're a star. Rich,
  7. That 21mm track looks nice when you see it up close. Rich,
  8. Loughrea seems to have had some cosmetic work done since I last set eyes on it , and it looks all the better for it. Any more pics of layouts Kirley please. Rich,
  9. My sentiments exactly Stephen. That pre production model looks far more advanced when compared to the other models that were on show in Wexford. The bonnet side grille looks tasty, and so do the tablet catchers. Rich,
  10. I will be getting some help with the scenic side of the layout myself as I feel that is the one area where things get the better of me. I don't mind the ballasting and road surfaces. It's twisting florists wire to make trees that does my head in. Rich,
  11. 600 feet you're making me jealous Stephen. I haven't even got my man shed built yet. Luckily the inlaws are builders. Rich,
  12. I managed to get a shot of 075 today and noticed the weld seems on the bottom part of the skirt. It looks dimensionally identical to where the filler piece will be on the 071 model. Is this a case of Life imitating art. Rich,
  13. Good to see you here Des. Rich,
  14. It's just as well Stephen that Seamus did capture that scene with the 071, as it is history now. Rich,
  15. I pass Waterford West most days Seamus and to see the MK111's awaiting the cutters torch is heartbreaking. Rich,
  16. It's certainly very good reference material for anyone beginning in the hobby and wanting to build their first layout. Some people are terrified of the wood working and electrical aspects of building a layout and Stephen is posting photos and updates regularly as well as giving pointers, that beginners can actually follow and put into practice. You can watch, admire, and learn at the same time. Rich,
  17. A Super Train baby GM and some CIE Cravens set might help shift some that are still on shelves. Rich,
  18. I would hope that something like this would draw younger people into the hobby. I started off myself with a Lima 1970's Irish set consisting of repainted class 33 and MK11 coaches when I was a kid. Rich,
  19. Exactly Fran at least the lads that we know who provide a weathering service will weather from a customers photographs, so in essence they are weathering what they see instead of a few passes of an airbrush over the bogies. Rich,
  20. That's a seriously good looking model Dave and more kudos to you for showing us an example of one of the coaches at an early stage of production. I look forward to seeing some painted examples. Rich,
  21. Anto I love the Bachmann MK11's in the NIR livery. They look as good as rtr models with a factory finish. Rich,
  22. Yer man in 222 is a bit like myself on a Saturday night Eamonn. I'll condense everything regarding the quality of your workbench into one word Eamonn excellent. Rich,
