  1. Amazing feat of engineering Gareth. Truly stunning work well done man. Rich,
  2. You did say in the original post that you wanted to scratch build so I assumed that it would mean that you were going to measure and cut raw materials for the build. For what it would cost to purchase some styrene and solvent over a small period of time wouldn't break the bank. You would be talking no more than €15 and no less than €10 to get you started, sourcing photos and advice regarding dimensions wouldn't cost a cent, as that information is available free on the internet. Spread the cost out over a month and you should be fine. Having a go and building a chassis or wagon yourself will give you confidence to try other things. Rich,
  3. I love it Anto, if that kind of modelling doesn't inspire people then they are in the wrong hobby. If I come up I might not want to go home mate. Well done again lads. Rich,
  4. Was the chap behind the camera a CIE employee. Really excellent and evocative footage of bygone days. Rich,
  5. I have got to say that I much prefer the original as delivered IE livery on the 201's. It's even prompting me to purchase 203 and use some A1 Models class 59 radiator grilles to replace the molded ones on the MM model. Paint the grilles and footstep plating on the cab front with Halfords grey primer, and have her in the condition she was in between 2006-08. Rich,
  6. Just to add to what Stephen has already said, the chassis would have a 12 foot wheel base. Have you given any thought as to what you will do to represent the w irons, axle boxes, brake gear, j hangers etc. As these would be fundamentally important to the look of the finished chassis. Good luck with it, and do keep us informed. Rich,
  7. Shes a beauty Gareth and a very impressive piece of kit. I remember there was a 201 model in 0 gauge produced years ago by one of the UK 0 gauge kit manufacturers to see if there would be a market for it. There was a pic of it in Railway Modeller with one of the same manufacturers class 59's. I don't think there was enough interest in it so it was never released, and I can't say that I have ever seen a pic of it since. Rich,
  8. I was about to suggest the same thing myself Stephen. With all the other things he has going on he should win multi tasker of the year. Mind you I think that the younger Bosko's must be sneaking out of the bedroom at night to lay track on Amiens Street, especially when we see the rate that you are moving at too. When it comes down to the wiring and other electrics for my own layout I could offer cheap B&B for both of you at Casa RedRich. Rich. Rich,
  9. garreth, were safe enough....he would have to catch us first!!! Never underestimate a man on a mission Seamus. Rich,
  10. Still look and sound good to me mate . Rich,
  11. A silent T Anto. I only just spotted myself  . Rich,
  12. I think he has left some favorable comments on youtube regarding your vids mate. Rich,
  13. Well done to Gareth and Anto. They are cracking models from two great modellers. Rich,
  14. I should also add that we have been trained in interrogation and we make Seamus's (user) namesake look like a choir boy. Anto now has a big thorny stick as well as a weathering stick. Rich,
  15. There's another few names added to the little black book. Gareth and Seamus, I'll be watching. Rich,
  16. Top work my man, keep us updated and keep the pics coming. Rich,
  17. Fran you have even got me frothing now. Do you get the models from the U.S Fran or more locally. I have a bit of a fondness for the Baltimore and Ohio Railway myself. If I had the space I would love to model something like Keyser yard in the late fifties with lot's of SD7-SD9 locos, Alco switchers. Rich,
  18. He seems to be a fan of your work Anto. You better look out mate or you might end up having a stalker . Rich,
  19. That's a pretty accurate sound recording Eamonn, just like I remember them. Rich,
  20. It's absolutely necessary as it helps the gears to mesh. It also gives the lubricant time to get into the areas of the gear tower that it needs to. Rich,
  21. Declan you can remove the whole bogie sideframe unit with a little gentle persuasion. You will then have access to the wheelsets, gears, pickups, etc. Rich,
  22. Classic Seamus,  Rich,
  23. Top notch work as usual Anto The flaking rust looks spot on, well done mate. Rich,
  24. Whatever you decide Conor please keep us informed . Rich,
  25. Well how about the weed spray on the viaduct Seamus. Eamonn has the prototype and you have the model in your's and I think that would be a nice compromise. If not I'll send my MIL up to Port Laois and she'll give you a run for your money :D. Rich,
