  1. Produce and write a couple of Kylie and Rick Astley tunes Fran and all this could be your's. Seriously though you've got to admire the guy, he produces the stock he wants to run himself and he also makes it available for the punters to buy. Rich,
  2. I'd be well chuffed with that too kid , it also seems to be a good color match with the Lima Galway coaches. Best feeling in the world watching the stock busy at work. My own 220 has now become the pride of my 201 fleet. Color wise it just looks spot on and just as I remember them after a few years in service. Rich,
  3. I've just been watching it on the smart hub on the tv and it looks good. Rich,
  4. I remember the LC on the road between Waterford and Dungarvan Eamonn the tops of the rails were a little to proud of the road surface. I'd imagine many an old banger lost it's exhaust going over it. Rich,
  5. Good tip Eamonn (excuse the pun) that makes good sense. I see you made the right choice with the avatar . Rich,
  6. No photos today , standards are slipping Stephen, get your finger out young man. Rich,
  7. An Antex or a Weller are the only way to go Stephen. I have a temperature controlled Antex and a 25 watt Antex and the temperature controlled iron can have the temperature turned down low enough for white metal soldering. I bought both of them in Maplins many years ago and the tips seem to last a good while as long as you take care of them. Rich,
  8. It's long gone Anto. When I moved over to London in the late 80's it was disposed of in a clear out of the loft by the folks. Rich,
  9. Dave I remember a Lima set from the 70's that had a loco four coaches a gantry and level crossing, plus track and controller. I had the set with the loco , 3 freight wagons, car transporter, and car transporter unloader. Rich,
  10. Perfect mate is all I can say , well done. Rich,
  11. Sean's fotopic site was one of the best in regards to using it as a resource for modelling. There were prototype photos of locos, wagons, coaches, buses etc. I spent many an enjoyable evening trawling through it. Rich,
  12. The bogie brake cylinders look very nice on the model. I hope that the model is a big success for PM and that the sales will allow him to produce more models in the future ie 121 class. Rich,
  13. That' some tidy work Conor, well done. You're modelling is improving all the time . Rich,
  14. I think the photos prove that mate. What are the odds or chances that the bus that you drove all those years ago would be there. A lovely piece of nostalgia for you Anto. I have a small software gremlin to overcome Anto, but I should have those DVD's sorted this week for you. Rich,
  15. Excellent lad's, and who says railway modellers don't have a sense of humor . Rich,
  16. Amazing feat of engineering Gareth. Truly stunning work well done man. Rich,
  17. You did say in the original post that you wanted to scratch build so I assumed that it would mean that you were going to measure and cut raw materials for the build. For what it would cost to purchase some styrene and solvent over a small period of time wouldn't break the bank. You would be talking no more than €15 and no less than €10 to get you started, sourcing photos and advice regarding dimensions wouldn't cost a cent, as that information is available free on the internet. Spread the cost out over a month and you should be fine. Having a go and building a chassis or wagon yourself will give you confidence to try other things. Rich,
  18. I love it Anto, if that kind of modelling doesn't inspire people then they are in the wrong hobby. If I come up I might not want to go home mate. Well done again lads. Rich,
  19. Was the chap behind the camera a CIE employee. Really excellent and evocative footage of bygone days. Rich,
  20. I have got to say that I much prefer the original as delivered IE livery on the 201's. It's even prompting me to purchase 203 and use some A1 Models class 59 radiator grilles to replace the molded ones on the MM model. Paint the grilles and footstep plating on the cab front with Halfords grey primer, and have her in the condition she was in between 2006-08. Rich,
  21. Just to add to what Stephen has already said, the chassis would have a 12 foot wheel base. Have you given any thought as to what you will do to represent the w irons, axle boxes, brake gear, j hangers etc. As these would be fundamentally important to the look of the finished chassis. Good luck with it, and do keep us informed. Rich,
  22. Shes a beauty Gareth and a very impressive piece of kit. I remember there was a 201 model in 0 gauge produced years ago by one of the UK 0 gauge kit manufacturers to see if there would be a market for it. There was a pic of it in Railway Modeller with one of the same manufacturers class 59's. I don't think there was enough interest in it so it was never released, and I can't say that I have ever seen a pic of it since. Rich,
  23. I was about to suggest the same thing myself Stephen. With all the other things he has going on he should win multi tasker of the year. Mind you I think that the younger Bosko's must be sneaking out of the bedroom at night to lay track on Amiens Street, especially when we see the rate that you are moving at too. When it comes down to the wiring and other electrics for my own layout I could offer cheap B&B for both of you at Casa RedRich. Rich. Rich,
  24. garreth, were safe enough....he would have to catch us first!!! Never underestimate a man on a mission Seamus. Rich,
  25. Still look and sound good to me mate . Rich,
