Generally an post will collect vat and handling on everything coming in from the UK unless it has the correct vat paperwork and even then it seems. Sending into the Uk from Ireland is somewhat simpler but even then there are exceptions and many hoops.
IRM have opened a new warehouse / distribution facility in Birmingham and will be splitting our stock from now on to simplify for customers and improve delivery times (accurascale stock also)
Good things come to those that wait
we have more powered items more coaches more wagons and more all this year. All of which are in advanced development and several in tooling already.
We had to offload delivery to a third party service as too many people had flagged the server IP for spamming them (rather than just unsubbing from notifications
For the record the A has metal sprung buffers as well as rotating axle bearings :and a built in stay alive and two large speakers and a comprehensive lighting package but who’s comparing
I think the volume of Irish modelers has grown and that the days of a €300 model are still some distance away unless you are making a really really small limited run of something.
If it helps with planning we have a small announcement in the next few weeks,, then something in April, something powered in late April/ Early May, something else in June, something else in July, and August and September and October (also powered)
Other than new tooled magnesite wagons and mark 2 coaches and blue Tara’s and all the in stock items on irm and many announcements to come this year
the challenge with IRM is that it’s about 10% of the size of the UK market so the UK side simply supports more stuff at a quicker pace
If your family and friends want gift ideas, just send them to https://irishrailwaymodels.com/products/gift-card
Can spend online (and in person if we get back to shows) and they NEVER expire (why would they, it's your money after all!)
Sound fitted means all the speakers and chip installed ready to go. Dcc ready usually means no chip but a socket for one and in some cases without a speaker.
We've SLA printed items in the past, primarily as a 'test print' to check details of a model. The last locomotive we so printed, printing out about 1/3 of the total parts the final model would have, cost £3,900 for ONE locomotive. (and it had to be hand assembled, obviously)
