    Customs & VAT

It’s pretty simple really. No mail carrier charges VAT on their postage service. Couriers all charge VAT on their postage service. If you buy into the EU from outside you pay no VAT or Sales Tax and you pay postage where applicable. When that parcel lands in, say Ireland, the ‘total’ value of that parcel on your invoice including all postage and packing and other fees is the amount An Post will charge VAT on. Buy £100 of models from the UK and pay £10 postage then An Post see a £110 parcel and will apply 23% VAT on £110 / €130 or so. You will therefore pay €159.90 in this example plus the An Post fee for handling the import VAT for you, which seems to be a range between €3.50 and €6.50 presumably based on value

    Customs & VAT

There is no VAT on postage but when importing you pay VAT on the full amount you’ve paid including p&p plus the an post processing.
  3. At least we now charge by weight at cost for ROW To buy using points just open the rewards widget and click on the Redeem button and it will let you pick how many points to redeem which will then get placed into the cart / checkout as a discount code.
  4. We have our IRM 40’ as well as the Acc PFA flats. We have also a couple more container flats in progress which all need containers on them too.
  5. Or our own ranges… watch this space
  6. Tbh that’s pretty inevitable
  7. Points? Free post?

  9. Thankfully whats' available has indeed moved on.
  10. Give us a week. We might have a few more
  11. Ultimately the forum itself remains a permanent archive that is searchable. It should be possible to split things like ee have done with shops closing etc but does that then put them out of the realm of places where people would browse?
  12. There are no import duties on model trains
  13. We’ve a few more bits and bobs and odds and sods to launch too
  14. A small headroom and a scattering of unpaid preorders that may free up. The delays with shipping are very frustrating at the moment but we’re working hard on getting stock in a timely mannner! Appreciate the patience.
  15. Boat has been a little late as things seem to go a lot these days but we’re hoping to start shipping next week at the moment.
  16. We had a small delay with some labelling issues, but should have all preorders away this week, and the balance of stock on sale.
  17. At least I wasn’t An Pist at the time. All the UK seller has to do nowadays is not charge you UK vat when they post something and ideally include an invoice.
  18. model railway locomotives and stock and accessories have always been exempt from duty, so there aren’t really any new charges for buying in the UK and shipping to Ireland. If the supplier is handling the VAT correctly otherwise you will only pay a couple of euro to An Post to process the delivery and charge you the vat you would have paid anyway.
  19. He status page is always the last know. / released update. At the moment we are pending final decorated samples so we can book in a production run at which point the schedule will be updated. We are looking around year end hopefully now. We do have other items in progress not on the chart too
  20. The Flats are now shipping and the opens are due in about a week or so, at which point the balance of stock will go on sale once we're clear of all the preorders!
  21. Trouble is the experience is always regional.
