  1. Mr Wrenneire, of this parish, should be able to assist also. They are doing several variations, too! Excellent news. I'll be after a BnT No. B147.........
  2. I ordered stuff from Silverfox recently myself. Pleased overall with what I've got, as I have been before, however, for some reason they WILL not produce models in the correct livery. Grey roofs on green coaches, black roofs and chassis on silver stock, and white lines and snails on green stock. I specifically mentioned in my order that the roof of the green vehicles (a coach and a van) that I was ordering must be black, as per prototype, but they arrived grey. It's not rocket science. As they arrive, they look as ridiculous as an 071 painted red and yellow - but a part-repaint is always possible. I note from their website that they offer a railcar set in green too - but grey roof again; plus all variations offered of their G class loco are wrong. It would be so easy to get these details right, as these vehicles are a good addition to layouts without the even greater expense of getting many specialist kits made up.
  3. I got stuff from Silverfox recently, but had it posted to a friend in the north....... best way if possible for those with family or friends in north or Britain.
  4. And the MED cars, "Might Expire at Dunmurry"............., though the AEC cars were "All Expired Completely", and the BUT sets were "Banjaxed Underneath and Throughout"
  5. Not me, but a good friend. Being a Donegal man, he was a mad yoke with the drink. HE was on a night out in Ballyshannon and got separated from his friends after the night club they were in had closed; it's about 02:45 by now or later. Ballyshannon being Ballyshannon, it was of course collapsing down out of the heavens. Yer man has lost his jacket (par for the course) and is trying to get a taxi home to.....Castlefinn!!!! That's an hour's drive through the Barnesmore Gap. Lashing rain, wind whipping it all round totally deserted streets by now. He sees a taxi sitting with the engine running. Hops into the back, soaked to the skin, in just shirtsleeves and by now freezing cold. "Can ye take me to Cyastlefannn, hi!", sez he to the driver. Drivers turns round and looks at him. "You get yourself OUTTA THIS CAR NOW! Or the ONLY place you're going tonight is a CELL!" He had got into a garda car. So I asked him, "So, how DID you get home that night?" Answer: "Sure ah dunno, hi!" Don't ye love Donegal, hi.
  6. It had just had its regular cleaning. Come rain or shine, it got one every 22 years throughout its life. Next would have been due in 1978.
  7. Sounds like something I must have done at some stage!
  8. Kevin, if your efforts in replicating Belturbet are anything like what you’ve done so far, it will be a masterpiece….
  9. Absolutely! The Rory one was sensational! I meant those miserable pair in anoraks….
  10. Superb stuff, Neil! Wonder will they put the old overall roof at Foynes out of its misery...........
  11. Gawwd knows what the IRM lads would do with that jar...........
  12. Bruce? And his Range, as well? You're getting them mixed up with Hornsby. Bruce is a one-hit wonder, I'd say that at his concerts he sings the same song over and over again for about two hours. That's just the way it is...... Or Elvis Bachmann...........
  13. Quote: "Lads, will yez all stop yer caterwauling, or I'm puttin yiz off the train"............
  14. Old man rant warning: I think the beatles, and that grumpy oul van morrison, are amongst the most overrated performers that these islands have produced. Only slightly more onboxious are the gallaghers. Can't stand any of them. Rant over; I'll show myself out.
  15. Weren’t they some sort of oasis tribute band for fallen Rolling Stones fans?
  16. Derek Got the following info from Kevan. "I started of with black acrylic primer. Went over with grey washes then dry brushed the rest. Grey primer was used. And then weathered Ballast was a bag of builders sand. I used it on the curve. The sunken look is achieved with daz clay between the sleepers...."
  17. Derek Thank you for your comments - much appreciated. That bridge was made by Kevin McIntosh, for whom I have some questions myself regarding my ongoing efforts to extend the scenic part to something like his standard. I think it is just random washes of light grey, but I will add your question to several others I'm asking him anyway and report back here. Still a great deal to be done!
  18. Once a week, the loco and coach of the branch mixed train swop, to go to Tralee for servicing. Here, one day in 1964, B165 and the branch brake standard leave Dugort Harbour on the up midday mixed. Three empty goods vans accompany them. They will cross the down train in half an hour, which hurries across the bog later that day with what will be the branch train next week - B141 and a Park Royal and van. The goods van on this train contains soap powder, bags of grain, groceries, a new furniture suite and a box of parts for a radio mast on a fishing boat. The three empty cattle trucks are to go to Kenmare for tomorrow's fair day. The opportunity is also taken to bring a new tanker of diesel down to the harbour for the fuel store there, which CIE use for the lorry and bus based there. IMG_5605.MOV IMG_5606.MOV
  19. Looked up their website - seems to be all 0 gauge / scale, though?
