  1. Received, loud and clear.
  2. I genuinely only suggested that because I thought it might be handy for the Guards when things get out of hand....
  3. Might I tentatively suggest the Café Bar on Store Street? The night'll probably end up across the the road, anyway...
  4. Phew, I thought you had planted some sort of mind-reading cookie...
  5. Free postage in the UK. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132346187898?ul_noapp=true
  6. Good idea. I have suggested before that badges with the appropriate avatar picture on might help, too. Keeping an eye out for soldering iron burn marks, orange paint under the fingernails and glue in the hair (of those that still have any), would also help.
  7. Possibly, I know he has two and my one may have been leased out there at that time. There is a passenger's-eye-view of his other layout, too. Nice bit of flange-squeal simulation on that one, courtesy of the mirror hitting simething. And driver's-eye-views, without the mirror.
  8. I find that a pasted URL is sometimes rejected, but just typing the image tags myself usually gets around it.
  9. This is a bit rough, but I mounted a small camcorder on a bogie flat, with a mirror at 45 degrees, to get a "passenger's eye view" of a friend's layout. It could be done a lot better than this with a bit more time and thought.
  10. Vigilance can pay off. Many years ago, a friend of mine had the boot of his Cortina forced at work and four items were stolen, including a trolley jack and a socket set. It really upset him and he constantly referred to it for weeks afterwards. I didn't notice that he always recited the four items in the same order until I was reading the small ads in the local paper six months later and realised that I had read one advert in 'his voice'. I rang him, he lived some way away and wouldn't have seen the paper, "Does this sound familiar?" "They're mine!". He rang the cops and they went round and got the stuff back. If they hadn't written the advert in the same order as he went on and on about it, I might not have spotted it...
  11. Wagon. Wagon. Bogie wagon. Bogie wagon. Coach. Coach. Shunter. Bo-Bo. Co-Co. Steamer. Turf-burner. Seems obvious to me.
  12. Another run on Wednesday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41337496
  13. That was Terence Cuneo.
  14. I understand that renowned railway and wildlife artist David Shepherd has died. His legacy involves some real locos that were saved through his efforts, not just the marvellous paintings.
  15. The footbridge has roller-shutter doors now. The water tower still survives. A newish van was in evidence.
  16. The branch siding has been fenced off properly. Some interesting trolleys for those keen on the yellow stuff. And a selection of machinery.
  17. Signed?
  18. Chap here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/00-gauge-Ballast-Hopper-Wagon-magazine-article-review-vgc-Irish-Railway-Models-/352166754424?hash=item51fec63878:g:3R4AAOSwRJ1ZnyZX - selling a ballast wagon review to raise funds to buy one.

  20. Kiltartan crossing destroyed by a van.
  21. ...in the modern image? You may need to include a piano. http://www.thejournal.ie/a-piano-is-being-permanently-installed-in-pearse-station-3582638-Sep2017/
  22. Still in existence - they seem to have moved to Hull and are now active mostly in the food processing industry. http://www.ibegin.com/directory/uk/north-humberside/hull/apple-engineering-ltd/
  23. Do we need the driver? Couldn't we just bury a wire in the road and "Faller" the whole thing?
  24. Great news - just half an hour forward and reverse at half speed, then he's away.
