  1. After previous encouragement earlier in the thread I contacted Railway Modeller about an article on my layout. They were very interested and I submitted everything requested. Haven’t heard from them since, that’s 5 months. I made them aware of this forum back then.
  2. 126 works the bubbles although an A Class would be handed for the load tonight!
  3. Peco code 83. Thanks for the positive feedback
  4. Fitted a backscene just to help finish the layout off.
  5. Mk2B Driving trailer leads an eighty set into Ballymena past a MV. Now there’s an idea for the IRM lads!
  6. Here's one of the Mk2b's converted to a 80 Class trailer in 2001 in Portrush. Also included a photo of a typical 80 Class Easter in Portrush. Seen as many as 11 power cars in the Port at once during the early to mid 1990's. Ballymoney just to finish
  7. Some bagged pallet loads as well. https://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/rolling-stock-freight/-acc2260bag-bag-loaded-pallets-stacks/
  8. If someone is looking for some spares here’s a few we’ll priced. No connection to the model shop involved. https://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/rolling-stock-freight/-acc2259keg-5-stacks-of-kegs-90-keg-version/
  9. I’m no Canadian railroad expert but got hooked on the models after a visit to Canada in 1996. The railroads were impressive and the models light years ahead of anything available for the British market at the time. Now of course we are spoiled with all the great Irish stuff available but the CP Rail bug is still alive so I have a little 8 foot by 18 inch shelf layout to show off the motive power.
  10. FEF (Front End Friday) shot on the Avonlea Sub.
  11. I don’t think I will be taking any chances.
  12. The 201’s are an excellent match. Here’s a couple of photos. Sorry about the quality of the NIR MV Class 104 but it gives IRM an excuse to produce a C 201 Class model and it’s just after departing Ballymena for those interested.
  13. So for all of us with MM 111’s it’s great to have stock of equal or better quality to run with them at last and I will certainly be ordering my fair share as budget dictates. Now for those that like everything prototypically correct the bad news. MM112 carries certain features that came along after these coaches were withdrawn. MM113 carries the large front yellow panel that I believe again would have been painted after the coaches withdrawal. MM111 is actually the only one that would have run with some of these coach packs in real life. So this is an excellent opportunity for Murphy Models to get another run of 111’s done with the correct features and colours to run with these and give modellers who missed the chance to get one. I know I can’t wait for these coaches. Never did I believe these would be available RTR. Brilliant.
  14. Thanks lads. We’re half way there!
  15. Mk2 range hopefully incorporating a 80 class announcement! please
  16. Fantastic photos especially the GP and SD40-2 one. Just wondering would you mind if I printed it off for my layout room?
  17. Just a couple of photos from my new CP Rail layout. Completely fictional location
  18. Just a note to say that my spare vac pipes arrived this morning direct from Murphy Models. Thanks for these and I will test my eyesight at the weekend and get them fitted.
  19. I would imagine the financial risk the Warley Club is exposed too very time they run the show would terrify many of the people who attack them for not running it. It’s the club’s decision and fair play to them for making it.
  20. Sorry to add to the cries of woe but Murphy product support has been non existent for me. I purchased seven 121’s in total from 2 retailers. Both contacted about broken vac pipes. Both said they couldn’t get parts return them. Kept them and contacted Murphy who then said the problem would be forwarded to the repairs guy. 3 months later still no vac pipes. Not good enough for modern day standards. I certainly has dented my confidence in Murphy Models. I have a large number of locos but it’s concerning little support for. By comparison, I had a 8 year old Rapido Trains LRC Loco that suddenly developed a motor fault. Contacted them three weeks ago. Motor sent free of charge and received over a week ago. Installed myself and model running like a dream. Certainly makes me consider concentrating on North American modelling again.
  21. Thanks for the info. I always try to have 24inch radius curves as a minimum so that’s great.
  22. Just a quick question but does the CAWS guard have to be removed if using couplings or can it be used down to a certain radius of curve?
  23. 048! Now that’s perfection! Exactly how a locomotive should look! Can’t wait for this to arrive now!
  24. Can I just say all the images so far have been fantastic. Just one question, is the cab front handrail plastic or wire? It’s the one part that looks very easily damaged if the packaging has any weakness at all. Can’t wait for the IR images.
