Having previously worked in the automotive industry in 2019 a manufacturer carried out a study on the carbon footprint of a 2 litre diesel saloon and their electric saloon. Both vehicles carrying out 12000 miles per year the crossover point at which the electric vehicle became greener was year 11 based on the batteries still functioning at 80% performance, which is highly optimistic! These are the facts from one manufacturer.
