  1. Up and running again!
  2. I would have thought even with the limited Irish market the A class that had a service life of basically 40 years would have out sold the 89. After all if memory serves me correctly there were about 17 different running numbers manufactured. Class 89 in reality would have had a service life of little over 10 years in total at best on the east coast main line corridor. It really shows how limited the Irish market is, and the spike in demand during the Covid pandemic is well and truly over. Even the activity and model forums like this one or RMWeb is a lot slower these days.
  3. NIR 80 Class and NIR MV’s would be my balance busters!
  4. It’s one of those moments for IRM, disappointment for not producing enough, dissatisfaction for producing too much! I would image there’s a lot of people just getting things slightly more difficult at the present time with the costs of day to day essentials going up, plus many modellers having enough to satisfy. Plus the constant scare mongers on the main stream and social media platforms making some people reluctant to splash out on their hobbies. In North America there seems to be a lot of recent releases by the model railroad manufacturers ending up in bargain sections of shop websites relatively quickly, a process that usually took about 18 months to 2 years to happen. I am already buying too many Hunslets and I will purchase some coach packs but I will be sitting out the 800’s and ICR’s.
  5. Traverser storage in place
  6. Can someone please help with this question from the IRM team?
  7. Bump this. Can anyone answer this before I place an order to lengthen my current sets?
  8. Will the light blue/grey versions be the same shade of blue as the previous triple packs in this livery?
  9. Brilliant stuff. Order will be placed, more to push the 80 class closer than need!
  10. Thanks. It will be more fiddle yard than scenery. I always had to manhandle stock on and off and it was getting pretty tedious.
  11. More joinery!
  12. Ballyercall currently having a rebuild/fiddle yard extension.
  13. 209 was removed from service 6th February for heavy overhaul.
  14. 227YR not sure about Connolly this weekend
  15. 207,228 & 233 are currently today’s Enterprise locos
  16. 208 worked the ex BGC 0700 this morning. If personnel available it will be removed from the Enterprise service tonight to go to Inchicore.
  17. A lot of disruption today due to an early incident between Dublin and drogheda.
  18. As we usually discuss the negatives on this forum here are some facts from the last two days Wednesday 23rd - 21 of 30 services arrived on time. 29 of 30 services arrived with less than 7 minutes delay 1 service 13 minutes late. Thursday 24th July - 21 of 30 services arrived on time. 29 of 30 services arrived with less than 5 minutes of delay. 1 service 16 minutes late.
  19. Double header with sound
  20. 9004 is in service tomorrow. 9002 is on test tomorrow.
  21. I don’t think any Irish model locomotive will be below €230 ever again. From my observation the Irish model railway scene has peaked and is in slow decline at present as modellers that entered the hobby during the Covid pandemic start to leave for other interests. Also an ageing demographic, plus the expense, it’s a tough old world at present.
  22. If the 80 class are ever produced rtr I will likely be bankrupt. Put me down for lots!
