just pucked up an airfix one on ebay for 9 pounds! now to find a crane similar to the modern one as in the pic from rails through the west-(GREAT BOOK!)

saw these babys fully loaded in the depot sidings in portlaoise twice this week. since i saw some of the wagons cut up at the north wall, i assumed they were all out of service waiting the same faith .......any info on why they are still being used? great to see them still in service!! lastly, anyone explain what div 42 stands for on the side of this one?

found this beautiful wagon in a siding off the depot in portlaoise....anyone got any info on it? looks like its for the cutters torch:(

good find! fair play to colm o callahgan for producing that vid...i could watch it overand over! love the sound of the A class as she trundles away on the single line through the countryside-magic! the timeless scene at the level crossing where the lady of the gate gives the friendly wave to the driver......those were the days:) -

the BR 2-6-4 fairburn tank is a dead ringer for the RPSI's no 4 just a little sawing , build up the bunker and bobs your uncle!

i will seperate the base of the bogies and remove all the wheels for a good cleaning next...and if that fails , its down to seamus 'train man' graham for an overhall!

checking.....yes. shafts at both ends are correctly in place. when the model is on the track with the power on... nothing! if however i i turn the motor by hand the motor will only move for a second then stops.i turn it again and she picks up for a second-always at the same spot. have cleaned the wheels but no different:((

looking again at both wagons leslie, i would opt for the longer version, as you say it is closer to the real thing!
