johnathan, the more i go through the book , i realise that the C.I.E black and tan era was in my humble opinion the best! the pictures taken were great showing the whole relaxed athmosphere of railway operations in those days...unlike now with health and safety! galway station must have been some sight when in full swing and emagine seeing 30 locos stabled in claremorris-every enthuesests dream! i espically like the pic of the burma road showing good rails being replaced with worn ones! i hope the book will be a best seller for you and barry. i look forward to picking your brains on livery and detail matters in the future...... and now that we know who you are, you had better keep the books comming! seamus

saw 082 with the new bogied spoil wagons in the depo doing a shunt into the yard before being shut down for the day-the sky tells of whats to come!

bos, seeing the old limas reminds me of how much money we forked out on getting them-- aswell as a small fortune to have them resprayed (god bless seamus grahams mothly crew!!).....werent we mad? i remember the day seamus introduced me to paddy murphy and showed me the new 201......i nearly died, then i f..... and blinded for ages. after a few weeks i stoped crying and accepted the fact that the fleet i collected would have paid for a holiday! if ever the wife found out......

have a few coaches that i used to practice weathering on and not having them going to waste, i will use them in a proposed scrap line. to make it like the real thing windows will be smashed... anyone of you bowsies got other ideas on how to vandalise stock-apart from grafetti?

excellent vid....that 071 engine sound is the dogs!!! seeing that clip reminds me of how much imiss the mk3's in that beautiful orange livery!

can he alter the sound recorded to give the correct sound as if she was operating at mainline speeds -ie @ 60/70mph?

a few good things about this set is that it sparked a bit of excitement in the irish model scene, it does look good from a distance, and she is a lovely little runner. it is resonable enough at the price and as rich said it is a good starter set. i must say that i thought paddy murphy might try a few train sets with the baby gm's!

eamonn, what was the max speed she did while the recording was done?

supertrain livery is the one for me....theres somthing about that broken wheel logo on the cab front that does it for me! but as money allows i will prob get the hole nine yards!!

good stuff there big man, what are the layout dimentions? i know you said it before but forget. the helix looks great- how wide is it? it will be a great way of accessing different levels from a small space. did discuss one with A4 a while back for my layout. keep the pics comming! seamus
