  4. got a copy today of RAILWAYS OF IRELAND PAST AND PRESENT DUBLIN-and lads, its a fantasiic look back at the black and tan era. the only drawback is that all the pics are not in colour. but having said that, the pics are outstanding! it has all classes of locos, shulzers, shunters, 141's, railcars, darts and steamers. there is a great chapter on the north wall and another on inchicore.... bliss! fair play to hc baker.
  5. warbonnet wrote-[i'll have to bring the two of them down to Brendan, stand them side by side and see what you think! after seeing the sulzer the other night , there is no dought in my mind that i will always model irish.....although i cant get the class 59 in the stobart livery out of my head!! grand to have had the chat with you and bren. till next time, Auf Wiedersehen

  12. thanks johnathan, i plan on going there anyway, most likely it will be with the family as we intend hitting up north for a few days. the plan is hit cultra, downpatrick and the titanic expo. must admitt the thought of going up there with a few of the lads here sounds like a bit of crack. i will keep an eye on the thread and if a gang are interested i could manage an escape from 'she who must be obeyed')

  18. 'I had a look at what Wild Boar are producing, and it's much improved. Take a look at the ramp wagon at the end of the link, it is mighty impressive. ' riche, i agree that the product looks good, but i would want to hold it in your hand before commenting. i got 2 sulzers and 4 of the e class and none of them were right. 2 of the e class were completely out of shape. they were replaced but even they were wrong. for the cost involved , i expected better. would need a lot of convincing to purchase from them again.
