dingle Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Any of you boys take a drink? What's your favourite tipple? Try this; one potion sloe gin, one potion chilled dry martini, no ice! Slice of lemon. Try before you buy. Regards Ken
Garfield Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) I was poured a large glass of raspberry poitín at work the other day. It was beautiful stuff, but typing was impossible after it... fingers refused to tap the right keys on the keyboard! It's hard to beat a pint of Guinness or a good whiskey... Well, it may upset some of you boys, but I don't like Stout. Tried all sorts, even drank Guinness on the Hallowed Ground where it's made in Dublin. I DO like Irish Ale, had several of those over the years. We can sometimes get Guinness Bitter in cans, in UK. Regards Ken

jhb171achill Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Maybe wash his mouth out with Guinness? Might get the taste for it.... (No, I don't have shares in them, but the amount I've consumed over forty years, i propbably ought to!) :-)
Weshty Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Beamish. Damn fine porter, particularly when playing a 5 hour guitar session in a pub.
Dave Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 You can't beat Guinness in an Irish country pub, nectar!

Broithe Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I was poured a large glass of raspberry poitín at work the other day. It was beautiful stuff, but typing was impossible after it... fingers refused to tap the right keys on the keyboard! Did you spot this highly instructional documentary on RTÉ a couple of years ago?
jhb171achill Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Tonight was red wine night. Good French stuff; forgotten how good it is - been drinking Chilean and Aissue stuff - albeit of excellent quality - for years.
Garfield Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Did you spot this highly instructional documentary on RTÉ a couple of years ago? That's a brilliant video, Broithe... cheers!
fitzguttentite Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 They had another friend over last night too much gin and tonic and the sunbed
fitzguttentite Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 He was a guest at last years party i remember his goatee That was an excellent video thanks for sharing , its hard to get a bottle of the good stuff anymore
Broithe Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 That was an excellent video thanks for sharing , its hard to get a bottle of the good stuff anymore There is another part of it on there, too. The whole programme was on RTÉ one night a few years ago and is all available on DVD now. Availability has definitely faltered in recent years - maybe austerity will drive the market again...? Next year, just invite the better behaved guests..
Weshty Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Did you spot this highly instructional documentary on RTÉ a couple of years ago? That is an absolute gem of a documentary, very reminiscent of David knoxes "hands" series in the early eighties. Just shows you RTE can do it right when they keep the commentariat out of sight....
Broithe Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 If you like well-done documentaries, then any of Johnathan Meades' stuff is worth a look - https://www.youtube.com/user/MeadesShrine - I especially like Off Kilter..
