Hopefully it’s not the Boyne Bridge that’s flooded!

That’s not too bad - you can still see the rails! It’s when the train leaves a bow-wave that it’s properly flooded.

I have once been on a DMU that braved 6 inches of floodwater above the rails and left a bow wave. It was all for nothing, the track dropped further and when the driver could see the platform surface was underwater at the next station, he stopped before he got completely stranded and went back to dry land!

The Enterprise sets are absolute work horses - they're comfortable, smooth and pleasant journey, and yes while there are still issues occasionally I still see them as great sets.

Likewise. By a very long way, the most comfortable trains in Ireland today, when they’re working. In their defence, they’re thirty years old!

I’m in one right now… 10:50 north. It’s reached Portmarnock without incident!!

if it's a 3-car CAF it'll be no better than a cattle wagon 😬

A week or so back I was on a northbound 16.50 and it was full DD Enterprise but still standing room only by the time we keft Connolly and only really thinned out in my coach at Newry. I normally try to avoid the 16.50 as it is basically a commuter service for Drogheda and Dundalk and so gets overloaded. Plus, from the north I can't book seats for the Enterprise unless I go 1st class... though at the mo it looks like even 1st class will be no guarantee of getting a seat 😕

Do Irish Rail still run that Friday only train from Connolly to Dundalk?

It should be golden from Dundalk.
