Signal Post Posted Friday at 20:09 Posted Friday at 20:09 Leslie, it's sad to hear of the wind-down of Provincial Wagons. It's sometimes easy for us to forget, when treated to the wonderful RTR wagons from IRM etc that your excellent kits filled a huge void for those of us modelling Irish railways, your beet wagons were a personal favourite as they are unlike anything that ran across the water and also difficult if not impossible to scratch-build (except by the experts!), indeed in my mind anytime I came across a photo of them on the prototype railway rather than thinking of them as "Bulleid Corrugated Opens" I would simply think of them as "Leslie's Wagons"! Once again thank you for your huge contribution to the Irish Model Railway scene and we look forward to your ongoing contribution to the wider railway scene through your involvement with the IRRS. 6 5 1

Old Blarney Posted Saturday at 11:36 Posted Saturday at 11:36 Good morning Mr McAllister, Well all good things eventually come to an end! I shall remember, with fondness your "Provincial Wagons" when running my model railways. These wagons have allowed me, and many more, to build realistic scenes representing the Railways of Ireland. It is now possible to have a variety of OO, ready to run rolling stock, that accurately represents Irish Railways (with the exception of our 5 feet 3 inch gauge): Something that was impossible, until Paddy Murphy and you, inspired other to venture into this world of - Irish Model Railways. My thanks to you, and your associates for the pleasure, inspiration and future enjoyment you have provided me with. David White. 3 1

Darius43 Posted Saturday at 15:32 Posted Saturday at 15:32 I’d just like to add my thanks to Leslie for his fantastic and immeasurable contributions to Irish railway modelling and Irish railway history through the IRRS. I have several built Provincial Wagon kits in operation at Whiterock and several more yet to be built. I’m also looking forward to the new UTA spoil wagons. Cheers Darius 5 1
leslie10646 Posted yesterday at 13:48 Author Posted yesterday at 13:48 Thank you all for your very kind comments and a special thank you to folk like @Old Blarney and @Patrick Davey who have been with me from earliest "Dapol Commissions" days to my CIE cattle wagons and the GSWR brake van. I still have stock to move and am still hoping against hope that MRSI can find me a stand for Clontarf, so that I can have a sell-off at pretty well cost price. Thanks again. Leslie 8
