EDIT: Please see latest post for most up to date 'wants list' 😊

Hi all.

I'm looking a few packs of IRM wagons that have long sold out, in order to fill gaps in my collection.

Firstly, some oil tankers: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/b-class-tank-wagons

Secondly, some magnesite ore wagons, like these: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/magnesite-ore-wagons

Diesel oil tanks: https://www.accurascale.com/products/cie-diesel-fuel-oil-tank-wagon-black-pack-1

Brown CIE grain wagons: https://www.accurascale.com/products/cie-bulleid-bulk-grain-wagon-brown-cie-roundel-era-pack-1

Finally, maybe some Bulleid opens with a grey chassis (flying snail era), like these: https://www.accurascale.com/products/cie-12t-corrugated-open-wagon-flying-snail-pack-1

I appreciate this is the longest of longshots, but you don't know until you ask!

I should add that I am on the right-hand island at the moment, which means GB or the North based is best.

Thank you very much for looking.

David

Try @leslie10646 who is selling off some wagons, and @WRENNEIRE who always knows a man.

David, I have Magnesite wagon sets C and D, six wagons total.  If those might interest you, and you cannot find a closer or better source, I'd be happy to discuss possible shipment to you from Chicago.  Just send me a message.

Hi Martin.

Apologies for the delay in replying to you. I'm very sorry abiut the rudeness. Thanks for you very kind offer, I've managed to source some magnesite wagons closer to home (and without any customs duty). But I'm really grateful for the offer.

I've managed to source a lot of what i need (and will be able to get some remaining 'wants' through the same channel), but will update this thread with I'm looking looking when I've built my railway fund back up!

My wagon quest is slowly progressing thanks to a very helpful chap in Dublin...

I'm also looking for a few locos to complete my roster. Most importantly,  a couple of Supertrain A Class locos (non sound). It was 018 and 027 which were done in this livery.

So if you have one (or more) languishing and in need of a new home, please let me know.

After that, a couple of Black and Tan 141s would be nice too. Those aren't high priority until I've secured some A Class locos though.

Thank you very much for looking.

Just as an aside, was the only difference between the original Supertrain livery and the Irish Rail one the logo?

If so, as an alternative approach, I'm guessing an IR one could be modified with a broken wheel decal.

My 007 (with IR logo) is a slightly lighter shade of orange, but it's not dramatically different, just looks realistically faded. It's not as light as the later IE shade of orange, I think. However, I don't have any IR/IE liveried locos to compare with.

My plan was to replace the IR logo with a roundel to replicate this (yes, that's me!). Then I got distracted by the 1960s...

007 and me!

If it is good enough for you as a master modeller, then it's more than good enough for this amateur bodger!!

PS - what a jumper!!! 🤩

There was a Mk2 coach on the back! Designed by me, knitted by my Mum.

Sadly, I wore it so much it ended up as more holes than wool! That was 40 years ago!

I'm not at home at the moment, but I've since rearranged these with 007 closer to some other orange things. There's a bit of variation between the manufacturers and batches, but there was on the prototype too as the paint faded, so it doesn't bother me. You can see there's a small difference even between the Murphy locos.

I realise that I have an 018 as well (so that's five A class bought secondhand - oops!). Not sure I'm quite ready to part with it though. I'm pretty sure I've seen every model for sale at least once over the last couple of years.

That's the boring 'out of the box' side of the display! When I've thoroughly ruined things they end up in the other half.

I'll be back home tomorrow and will update the pics.
