0 David
As far as I know the 121 class was an EMD export design and so didn't run in USA. There's a Wikipedia page about it http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_GL8. There is a Brazilian manufacturer that makes their version but it is very different to the Irish one and very expensive. 0 Liverbird81
I've found an HO bacmann alco s4 switcher loco seems pretty close although would need some tiny alterations I think and there only £65 RTR models

0 Garfield
They're not alike at all, to be honest. GM's GL8 model, of which the 121 class is a variant of, was designed specifically for the export market. As far as I know, nobody produces a ready-to-run model of this loco. If there is one available, some alterations would still be needed...

0 UP6936
I think most of the gl8 locos built had high-hoods, so it would be quite hard to modify one to look right, if they ever bring out a model.

0 Mayner
The Argentinian & Mexican GA8 locos are probably the nearest appearence wise to the 121s http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=350229&nseq=2 They have the same engine as the 121s but ride on freight trucks with a pair of traction motors inside the body.
