Broithe Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 A couple of pictures of Abhainn an Scail. Well worth a visit, if you're not too far away.
RedRich Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 That is beautiful Jim. Never seen it before, thanks for the pics. Rich,
Broithe Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 That is beautiful Jim. Never seen it before, thanks for the pics. That's almost all I can find out about it - there's little else online that I can find. I'll get some more pictures next year, hopefully.....
heirflick Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 beautiful layout with great attention to detail - love the rust on the tin roofs!- thanks Bro for posting:tumbsup:
Broithe Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 The big day(s) approaches - http://www.staffordrailwaycircle.org.uk/exhibition.php - 31st Jan & 1st Feb. Well worth a journey ( only a couple of miles for me)...
Broithe Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Well, I've just returned from what was a great show - an Irish layout, a few Welsh ones, a couple of continentals, but no US ones. Nice to meet Mike 84*, and the extremely nice Mrs 84, who did seem very well trained. Pictures later...... * That's six people that I've seen in real life now...
Broithe Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Right, pictures - Abhainn an Scail first, of course.
Broithe Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 ..and on to other things.. Some big fiddle yards..
Broithe Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 ..the last three.. And a Welsh layout with appropriate weather approaching.
murrayec Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Hi B Some very nice layouts there, very neat work- the majority of the scenes are very uncluttered.. very neat Looks like it was a good show Nice to see Eoin
Mike 84C Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Hi Jim, good photographs of some good layouts a reminder of a very good day. Which Mrs 84C enjoyed! You are the second real person I have met. The Welsh rain in your pictures of the B&M layout looks rather better than I remember when I looked at the layout! Mike
irishmail Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Great pics Broithe, good to see Dewsbury Midland still going. I first saw that layout at Ally Pally about 10 years ago.
Broithe Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Hi Jim, good photographs of some good layouts a reminder of a very good day. Which Mrs 84C enjoyed! You are the second real person I have met. The Welsh rain in your pictures of the B&M layout looks rather better than I remember when I looked at the layout! Mike The rain on that Welsh layout was just so reminiscent of driving up the A5 in the '70s - somehow, the A55 is so much less miserable... I am not actually a real person - sorry to disappoint you. My 'collection' of so-called 'real people' so far is :- The Train Man Robert Davies Heir-flick Murrayec Dave Mike 84C I know that nobody else really exists......
