Good Morning all,

 

A couple of updates to the website of pictures from the weekend.

 

On Friday I spent the day in Dublin area, the plan was substantially changed from what I had planned due to the cancellation of Tara Mines trains but it was still an enjoyable day out.

Locations visited include:

- Heuston.

- The Gullet.

- Clondalkin / Fonthill.

- Connolly

- Tara Street

- Pearse

- Grand Canal Dock.

- Dun-Laoghaire.

- Bray.

- Clontarf Road.

- Drumcondra & Claude Road.

- Ashtown.

 

Saturday has pictures from Jervis Tram Stop and Ballykillane south of Portarlington.

 

Sunday has pictures on the Cork Line between Templemore and Portarlington, plus the RPSI Bray Shuttles.

Evening folks,

- Images of the 1900 Ballybrophy - Limerick (2809 + 2810) from around Roscrea.

 

Friday:

A trip to Waterford and the Barrow Bridge for the (cancelled) Weedspray Train to Rosslare.

The weedspray train has been rescheduled for Monday morning.

Evening all,

 

The 2nd batch of photographs from the weekend have been uploaded for Sunday 20th July 2014.

 

Iarnrod Eireann moved another 6 Mark 3 carriages from Dundalk to Belfast Adalaide Depot for scrapping. The consist was 7102 + 7147 + 7166 + 7406 + 7115 + 7615 and was hauled by 228. Click http://smu.gs/1twjNVh to view.

Excellent photos as usual Wanderer. But has anyone wondered how 'The Wanderer' is always in the right place at the right time to get those cracking images. Well I think I spotted the answer parked on the old Carlisle Pier in Dún Laoghaire recently:

Afternoon all,

 

Some updates from the last couple of days:

 

- Stradbally Railway & Vintage Steam Rally 2014

The oldest Steam Rally in Ireland celebrates its 50th Birthday last weekend at Stradbally Hall in Co. Laois.

- August 2014.

After the Steam Rally I popped over to Athy for the delayed 1130 Westport - Waterford Timber hauled by 220 and Monastervin for MKIV services to pass each other.

- Flying In Ireland & NMAI Annual Fly-In @ Limetree.

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend the annual Flying In Ireland Magazine & NMAI Flyin was held at Limetree Airfield, near Portarlington in Co. Laois. The highlight of the weekend was the visit of Rescue 116, the Dublin based Irish Coastguard S-92 Helicopter on the Sunday afternoon.

Evening all,

 

A large update this evening featuring pictures from the past week.

 

Sunday 10th August 2014:

- 461 on the Great Northern Getaway RPSI Specials from last Sunday.

 

Thursday 14th August 2014:

- Lunchtime visit to Rosskelton for the afternoon up and down Cork services.

 

Friday 15th August 2014:

- Autoballaster Train at Portarlington and a few afternoon snaps from Portlaoise.

 

Sunday 17th August 2014:

- Some images from Killarney on Sunday Morning. The evening time features the return G.A.A. Specials to Cork and Limerick Jct. after a match in Croke Park, Dublin.

Also something a little different. It's a train Jim, but not as we know it. The Killarney Tourist Train is an amazing, a Family fun & a unique way of seeing what Killarney has to offer its visitors.

Evening all,

 

22014, which has been stored out of service since November 2012 made a trial run from Laois Depot to Portarlington in the afternoon. It was pictured at Ballykillane, along with some of the evening peak services from Heuston.

Evening all,

 

Today was a PWD day with the transfer of Autoballaster and Weedspray wagons to and from Limerick Wagon Works for maintenance purposes. The evening time has a selection of pictures from between Portlaoise and Portarlington.
