richrua Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Sometimes I think I am really useless at this. I have so many nearly finished bits lying about. I always seem to jump from one thing to another.
Broithe Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) I have a (nearly) finished model that I started in 1978. Edited April 17, 2015 by Broithe Spelling - again!
Georgeconna Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 We should for a club.. Got some stuff that would take an hour to finish but it is always those unopened or carefully fingered kits that beckon them to be started..
Dunluce Castle Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Don't get me started Richrua, I have over a dozen unfinished projects which will probably not see the light of day for quite some time haha, I'm sure everyone is the same, one day you'll feel the mojo and finally finish off that long forgotten project.
Warbonnet Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Sometimes I think I am really useless at this. I have so many nearly finished bits lying about. I always seem to jump from one thing to another. I wouldn't call that useless, I'd call that perfectly normal!
richrua Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Once again the forum saves my bacon! I chilled out and made a little list. I think it is because there are so many aspects to this hobby it is easy to be pulled in different directions. It has it all really. Creativity, art, craft, electronics, maths, physics, history, reading, digital programming, photography....
Broithe Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Sometimes I think I am really useless at this. I have so many nearly finished bits lying about. I always seem to jump from one thing to another. Women call this "multi-tasking" and regard it as a virtue.
Chevron Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Sometimes I think I am really useless at this. I have so many nearly finished bits lying about. I always seem to jump from one thing to another. I am the very same. swapping and changing between different ideas and have done projects
kevrail Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Surely the whole idea is a hobby!!!! To relax and enjoy at our leisure when WE decide to start, continue or finish a project. This ensures we enjoy what we do with no pressure. I find this forum inspiring and informative and run trains when I feel like it. Dabble when I feel like it. Jump from idea to idea and projects when I feel like it. That is why I like this hobby. We all move at our own pace and pleasure and no one should feel useless about that.
murrayec Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Hi kevrail has hit on it! work on what we want and when we feel like it I'm afraid to make a list it would have to go back about 20 years or more! Eoin
