"G" scale garden railways; anyone out there modelling it?

Yes, I am. Thanks for sending me in the direction of Worsley Works (http://www.worsleyworks.co.uk). It's a great source for G Scale as well as Irish models in other scales. I would be interested in contacting anyone else modeling Irish railways, especially narrow gauge, in G Scale.

Large scale is more geared towards the narrow than the Irish Broad Gauge. If you have the money Accucraft do some very nice IOM rtr locos and stock which is reasonably close to the Antrim Narrow gauge, John Armstrong has produced live steam Irish 3'gauge locos

 

 

I don't know if anyone has done Irish broad gauge on Gauge 1 or G Gauge track Worsley Works would probably be prepared to blow up their Irish locos and coaching stock to run on G Scale track but building a loco would be nearer to miniature engineering than kitbuilding or rtr conversions which is why I stick to American narrow gauge

Lionel do this in G, I know its a toy, but be basis for kit bash into something like an 800class

Worsley Works do a "G" scale kit for a CIE (West Clare) "F" class diesel. It is very accurate.

I model in 16mm/1ft with an Irish flavour, and a strong Donegal influence in my coaches, Google Killymard Electric Mine Railway. Provided you're not wanting a 100% recreation, it's not costly, and can be cheaper than OO.

Hi Paul, I model 16mm/1ft scale in Lisburn. I know there's a small difference but the larger scale narrow gauge world is very accommodating.
