ttc0169 Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 B141 was moved under its own power from the RPSI locomotive shed last weekend out into the winter sunshine. IMG_3636.MOV 10
DART8118 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Copied the photo below into this thread so as not to hijack the 121 sound chip discussion. It's a super photo that shows the Murphy Models plate and thanks to DiveController for posting it. I understand that in the real world the Murphy Models plate is at the No 1 cab end. In the DCC world is that the forward cab, or the reverse cab, or does it matter? TIA 8118 2
DiveController Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I believe they were still referred to as No1 & No. 2 (no jokes please), not sure if forward etc make that much sense in a double cabbed loco, although I often have problems remembering which is which tbh 1
DART8118 Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Easy enough in the real world. No 1 cab has the Murphy Models plate and the short handrail. 2
AllThingsDiesel Posted June 13 Posted June 13 B141 was repainted at Inchicore very recently (last month, I think?) 11 2

So that'd be £36,000 for both locos without any ongoing certification work. For operating in Northern Ireland there'd be AWS and TPWS installation and certifications, plus train radio. In the Republic, requires a train radio (if it hasn't been removed) and ETCS Level 1 will be coming and that's something to be determined but is a very expensive bit of kit. I'd say £70,000 per loco is the bottom end estimate! 2

So costs have only gone one way since then 1
