LOL, sausages were gone within a fortnight.

Using your sums, €18k / 30 years is €600 a year on models, probably less than some would spend on things like alcohol, cigarettes, parties, holidays etc.

I've never had a car, but I live in the suburbs of a big city and I can get by without. It does place limitations on what I can do, but saves a huge amount of money which can be spent on toy trains instead. Though I don't have as much orange as DJD does, and mine are mostly stacked away in the 'cupboard of shame' rather than displayed. I tend to just display the stuff I've made myself. But I have to say that DJD's wall of display cases is mighty impressive!

Maybe you need to get yourself written into DJD's will before the sausages get consumed?

Where did you get the BTB gauge, and have you got any track gauges?

I made my own BTB gauge and am considering making my own track gauge, but if they're available to buy from somewhere that would be easier.

I like the fact that it’s adjustable and therefore suits 21,2mm, 18,83mm, 16,5mm etc.

Don’t have any track gauges, yet.

It made sense buying both from the same place, as the postage costs to here can be quite high.
