Good information there-    despite the obvious decrease in volumes in freight compared to before, l still think we are lucky to be able to see the action we do (071, 201, Taras, Container Liners etc) and all at such close quarters.

Fixed that post for you! 

079 was the loco assigned to collect the ICRs from Ocean Pier, I couldn't make it down myself this week but a friend sent me this pic of 079 with the new arrivals(7-9 of the batch of 41)

That was the last three off this vessel..

 

Will post info here when I get it, normally find out a few days before( it impacts on ops for the liner)

By the way, here are the photos that I took that day.

About 4 photo: I didn’t know that foxes live in the north wall, in the photo you can see 2, one goes down the center of the frame, the other lies on pipes near an overturned chair not far.

You can also quite interestingly coincided in frame 3, you can see first class 071 locomotive and the last one.

Monday's are normally quiet, and the Coca-Cola plant in Ballina had a few shut downs last week for Maintenance to bulk silos and Anniversary Celebrations.. This week is flat to the mat from now until at least next monday!

They can handle 45ft palletwide containers, but not reefers as they are slightly too wide due to the thicker/double skinned walls.. 

There is no 5ft add on, the Irish Rail pocket wagons were always 45ft long, and besides their design concept are not related to the UK pocket wagons(KTA/KQA/) that are 40ft only..

First vessel is due 4/12 with 6 cars

Next vessel is due 5/12 with 6 more

And a final vessel is due 17/12 with 6 more cars..

She was, the vessel is the Maria and she is currently showing as docking some time on Thursday now.. https://www.dublinport.ie/information-centre/next-100-arrivals/

as far as I understand, the locomotive will be in the port at about 4-5 pm, but when do they usually return to the north wall?

The path to depart for Heuston is at 19:35, so some time between 5 and 7:30.. Sorry can’t be more specific but it would depend on ops in the port which can vary greatly in time
