  1. An announcement tomorrow would lead to the dissolution of many relationships!
  2. T minus 90 minutes... Maybe...
  3. Is there anything that the Irish and British pocket platforms share?
  4. I assume that he has double track, using one controller for each track, using points and crossovers for the loop?
  5. Maybe post a photo of the underside of the points themselves. What points are they?
  6. They can't post as they're laughing too hard at all of us numpties and our ramblings. 13 hours to go and will there be an announcement? GSR 800? J15? P47? 071? Two-tone green Dublin buses? A B&I ferry? New IRM factory in the Canary islands? Or another week of dashed hopes and dreams?
  7. Yup. If you open the photo and zoom in, you can see it written on the cabside.
  8. You could try removing one of the couplers from the NEM socket and gluing a very fine silver of plastic card either underneath the coupler to raise it, or above the coupler to lower it. When dry, pop it back in. Which one to raise or lower depends on use. Might make more sense to do one loco rather than a load of coaches, if that's all it's going to haul. If the loco's going to haul a variety of stock, and everything is fine aside from the Mk2D's, then modifying the Mk2D couplings makes more sense. I'm sure that @Noelhas written about this, or something similar, previously.
  9. Bachmann do the SR's both with and without smoke deflectors. P.S.: Every off-topic post is considered a promisory note to buy one of John's wagons when he gets rolling again...
  10. IRM Ballast wagons going for peanuts: https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/irish-railway-models-ballast-wagons/33329806 Taras, both blues and browns: https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/irish-railway-models-tara-mines-wagons/33329819 Outstanding price for the entire Bachmann Irish trainset, DCC fitted: https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/bachman-irish-railway-train-set-dcc-fitted/33168752 All from the same guy. That Bachmann set, wow, I'd snap that up in a second if I were up in Ireland. Almost tempted to not share it with you lot and somehow plot to get it for myself!
  11. Much cheaper than the official Irish ones, like €40 or €50 vs. €150 or €200, and looks Irish-ish enough for me.
  12. That looks massive, literally and figuratively! It'll be a warm winter for Ballyercallers.
  13. Do you ever upload any videos of this layout to YouTube?

The new grilles are a tiny bit off but you're unlikelt to be looking tht closely!
  15. Try WRENNEIRE here on the forum, or Chris Dyer. Both have helped me out, along with many other forum members, with some lovely hard-to-find items at fair prices. Only forum members, though. If you contact them and you're not a forum member, they throw eggs at your windows at night.
  16. Is "silvering" the term for the shine off the carrier film?
  17. Another Chris Dyer / Tony Mirolo re-spray arrived in the post today! Unfortunately they messed up and gave me a second 081, so I'll have to get somebody to re-number it some day. Cost-prohibitive to post it anywhere so it'll be a working holiday for somebody. I know that you can see the carrier film, but that seems to be the way that Chris and Tony work these days. Again, it can be a working holiday for somebody to tidy this up! Short video uploading...
  18. I see some Satlink wagons for sale lately. Nice livery, but I know nothing about the livery, when it ran from and until, what they did, what hauled them etc.
  19. The postage and the duty is the killer. I posted two of my A's to family up in Ireland to sell, but the crazy postage, and An Post fees, are going to make them difficult to sell. Plus, only one has arrived. Aside from that, those two on eBay with sound chips will work out great value for a UK buyer, or an Irish buyer who has a friend with a UK address.
