  1. Any hints about future A/S locos?
  2. Spot on, there. A lot of our conventional wisdom comes from an era when locos weren’t the powerhouses that they are today. The A/S / IRM A Class will probably tackle much much steeper grades, even with heavier loads and more resistance, than a steam loco from twenty years ago. Testing the start/stop on a long plank is a great idea.
  3. Will check my running numbers when home. Pretty sure that one pack has s more yellow shade of orange and one has a more red shade of orange, from the factory. Don’t think there were mixed shades in the same pack.
  4. Don’t forget:
  5. I think that @Sean was working on something similar, but it went on hold. Maybe he can offer some advice.
  6. Say hello to The Griffin and The Moon Howler, both 1/43 models from Hachette. Not as well-built as IXO / Premium Classixxs / Altaya / DeAgostini, but nicely liveried, and worth it if you can get them for a decent price. The Griffin, Scania 143M, Hachette G-1470004, and The Moon Howler, Volvo FH16, Hachette G-1470005.
  7. Those Palvans look quite nice!
  8. What are the running numbers of each Mk3 in each pack?
  9. Lucky lucky man! Those sets are hard to find online.
  10. Thanks, @NIRCLASS80, they look delicious!!!
  11. Wow! Only the sound-fitted variant still available, base model has to hold the record for A/S / IRM’s fastest sell-out???
  12. Fabulous shots, @Fran, thanks for posting them. Extra beneficial for those of us a tiny bit too far away to attend in person.
  13. I like that orange D5579 a lot. Looks to have been a short-lived livery, 1963 until January 1966, so definitely a Rule One loco.
  14. Sorry, I should have added that the wheel-puller that’s on the way is also from Fohrmann: https://www.fohrmann.com/en/mini-wheel-puller.html It made sense buying both from the same place, as the postage costs to here can be quite high.
  15. Went with this one for back to back: https://www.fohrmann.com/en/wheel-spacer-h0.html I like the fact that it’s adjustable and therefore suits 21,2mm, 18,83mm, 16,5mm etc. Don’t have any track gauges, yet.
  16. Definitely makes sense, but you know, we ARE talking about pre-Celtic-Tiger IE…
  17. I’m a master of underachieving, so this will be fun! Rail already here, wheel-puller and back to back gauge in the post, still haven’t bought any wood for boards.
  18. Little parcel received from @Rob R today!!! Outstanding!!!
  19. Were the IR and IE logos vinyl or painted?
  20. A friend just sent this video to me. Relatively low quality but fine for mobile viewing. Enjoy! DAC1FD8A-EB88-4D23-8F9E-BBC06E2552C3.mp4
  21. Two four-packs of IRM’s smashing Mk2B/C coach packs for €220 per pack: https://www.ebay.es/itm/205328216273
  22. Totally clueless regarding 3D printing, but do you mean that you bought a file from Cults3D that you then feed into your own printer to print the model?
  23. That De Dietrich stock looks amazing!!!
  24. I see a few Chris Dyer pieces of stock on your list. Fair play!
