Bit of a shame that there were so many unpaid and unclaimed pre-orders with no communication, but all the better for anybody who missed out.

A couple of O Gauge Mk2 coaches back in stock tonight, including TSO’s, FK’s, plus RTC and Network Rail variants, but only a sprinkling, so be quick!

There were four green variants and twelve black and orange, so 25% were green. Sales at Mark’s Models seem to loosely follow that trend, with two of eight remaining lines being green. People have Bachmann Moguls, Silver Fox C Classes, Silver Fox A Classes and IRM A Classes all starved for green coaching. Given that, and the shift towards the grey days on the forum over the last few years, I thought the green variants would have sold faster. Possible that the grey market is a bit saturated as a lot of recent released seem to be that era, H Vans etc not selling, which may explain the green coaches not selling out on day one. Honestly, they are GORGEOUS and I thought they’d have sold out long before any black and orange variants. Possible that there’s a difference in the way people post and the way people spend. The more vociferous minority etc.

Now down to eight variants in stock at Mark’s Models: http://www.marksmodels.com/?cid=51 Six black and amber, amber sounds better than tan, and two green.

These things weigh a ton! What’s the risk of lead poisoning?

To answer that question, @murphaph kindly informed me that the DC Hunslets have what I think he called a “whopper” of a speaker, so it’s not like the DC Class 60: Happy days, sound decoder ordered!
-

Hunslets due for delivery on Monday. Local Fed-Ex partner’s driver ‘phoned on Friday to schedule time and advise of importation fees. Won’t get to even look at them for two weeks as I start a 13-day slog on Tuesday, but that will give me time to buy a decoder or two. Now, a question for the experienced folk. Do I need to buy an additional speaker? There are no speakers listed under the Hunslet tab on the A/S website, but the decoders ARE, hence my confusion. Thanks in advance! Or TIA if you’re a frikkin’ Millenial, FWIWFFSWTFBBQFTW…

Jaysus! Why are they all losing their minds, now? It’s almost July, and here’s an extract from an email from Rails of Sheffield, sent in late April: ”ABOUT 'PURPLE DOT' PREORDERS Our New Purple Dot pre-order system will offer various benefits over our existing pre-ordering infrastructure. We'll be trialling it with this new Maxons Van, but then it will be rolled out sitewide in the near future. Do let us know if you have any feedback. SINGLE CHECKOUT FOR IN-STOCK & PRE-ORDER ITEMS With Purple Dot, you will no longer need to check out separately for in stock and pre-order items on our website - as they will all be unified into one process! UPDATE YOUR DETAILS MORE EASILY We will be offering a simpler way to update your card details, addresses and other information - right up to the point of your item processing. INSTANT ACCESS TO YOUR PRE-ORDER HISTORY There will be no more waiting for your preorders to appear, as you will be able to view details of any pre-orders you've made immediately using the Purple Dot portal. ️ BESPOKE OPTIONS AVAILABLE ON PRE-ORDERS Finally, you will also be able to specify Rails Bespoke item customisations such as weathering, digital/ sound fittings and more where applicable. This isn't available right now but will be available during the full rollout.”

Alphagraphix Email Account Compromised Again
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in General Chat
I know that some email providers, for example Google, allow you “send email as” if you have the password to another email account. For example, one can send mail from their Gmail account, and it appears to have come from their Outlook account. However, the scammer would need to have set a different “reply to” address for that to work, as the replies will go to Roger. So, either they’re very bad at scamming, or they still have access to Roger’s inbox. -

Yeah, the HC 20’ boxes are the mainstay down here. The baby height ones are rare as rocking horse shit. Well, you say that… -
Fabulous news! This has to be one of the hottest items you guys have ever released, and I’m sure they’re well worth the wait.

Have just received an email, seemingly from Roger of Alphagraphix. The subject is “Hello….” The body is: ”Let me know if you get this I'm unable to talk on phone due to throat infection. Roger Crombleholme Alphagraphix” I’ve just called and spoken with Roger to let him know. He has done what he can since the last attack, and confirms that this is not genuine. Beware!

Already said it but those pictures are just wonderful.

How does that cost break down, and for how long is certification valid?

Clogherhead - A GNR(I) Seaside Terminus
DJ Dangerous replied to Patrick Davey's topic in Irish Model Layouts
The lighting is spot on. @murphaph sent me a pic of one of his Park Royals last night and used the word “atmospheric”, which I feel is also very apt here. -

Something about the ship reminds me of the old Bell Lines ships. Nostalgia gold. -
Lovely pics, looks like it was a great show. Nice to see Mr. Coyote.

Must say that the green with grey undercarriage really looks great! Agreed. Not a fan of the “black and tan” phrase, much prefer “black and orange”.
-
Absolutely stunning, @Darius43! Fabulous video and photos, @Brunel273! I’d say he means fitted to the Park Royals in the video.

Down to twelve variants in stock at Mark’s Models: http://www.marksmodels.com/?cid=51 One green sold out and one black and orange sold out.

Great idea using fixed-bar couplings!

You sound just like the voices in my head! I wonder if anybody has tried a top & tail DCC consist, yet.

Powered units? i’ll take a 1980’s DART, please! Failing that, a 29000 or a 2600 would be nice. Unpowered? Your O Gauge 071’s will need some Mk2’s to haul, and it would be a shame to spray over these gorgeous NSE ones. Would also make @murphaph’s holidays here more touristy and less businessy. Stepping down a scale, Mk3 coaches, specially suburbans with a DVT, definitely number 1 on the list. Dutch Van next on the list, even if it has to be priced higher due to it’s uniqueness. Mk1-based GSV’s and Weedspray coaches would tie in with a UK coaching range, but Bachmann and Hornby seem to have the Mk1’s covered - so a bonus point for the Dutch Vans. Mk4 and De Deitrich coaching ranges would be super - there must be a lot of 201’s out there just begging for both of those. I guess De Deitrich’s would need to wait until after the Mk3’s, so you could tool up the Enterprise livery Mk3 EGV’s, but no such shenanigans with the Mk4’s. Bottom end of the list would be something to intersperse with the Park Royals, and Tin Vans. Anything 1970’s and newer would be a delight, whatever it may be. The last couple of years’ models have mainly targeted the grey era’s.
